Irish Mountain Cardio

Irish Mountain Cardio Irish Fitness Industry Awards Finalist 2020. 98FM Best Of Dublin Sports Club Finalist 2024/25 Your more than welcome anytime.

Established at the beginning of 2017, Irish Mountain Cardio quickly became Dublins largest trail running club over a very short period of time. Founder and creator Mark Foley, his passion for running mountains and trails all around Dublin and Ireland grew into a trail club that has been recognised by his peers all across the land. With experience in 5k runs right up to 52k ultras, from adventure r

aces, triathlons, aquathons, duathlons and everything in between, he has a vast knowledge of everything you need to know. The one component that helped in all his races throughout the years was the experience of running hills and how it helped his endurance and strength to overcome the difficulties of various terrains that races throw up at you. Irish Mountain Cardio is proud to be affiliated with Athletes Ireland. Based up at the Hellfire Club in the Dublin Mountains, with distances of 6k 8k and 10k runs to choose from, for all cardio sports, using mountains as a form of resistance training, hill running is an excellent way of keeping fit and healthy both for the body and the mind.

A huge thank you to our Women in Sport Officer, for organising a fantastic weekend away for the ladies of the club. From the travel and accommodation to the stunning 4-hour trail hike around the Cooley Mountains and evening dinner, everything was planned to perfection.

Judging by all the feedback, it was a huge success. A weekend filled with great trails, breathtaking views, plenty of laughter, and even better company from start to finish.

Well done, Sue, on creating such a memorable experience for everyone involved. 👏🏔️🥾😊

It was a cracking evening to be out on the trails, with plenty of strong running and great competition throughout the field. A huge well done to everyone who took part. The conditions were perfect underfoot, and despite the midges doing their best to slow us down, everyone dug in and got the job done.

Lovely evening up on the hill tonight. We managed to dodge most of the rain, with just a small shower catching us near the end. Another great run with great company, fresh air, and plenty of smiles along the way. Well done everyone who made it out.

What an amazing day with our club members who took on the Dublin Mountains Way Challenge, a 42km trail run from to The Sean Walsh Park in Tallaght. We had the 50km runners coming in from Bray and joining the main group to head off on a very hot day over the Dublin Mountains. Our aid stations crew where the best, our sponsors for an amazing running top created by the talented crew in .ie. for helping us out with our recovery for sore and tired legs. Thanks to the Shay of The Dragon Pub for a great night of celebrations. What a team, what a club.

Gorgeous morning up in the mountains today 🌞⛰️

Sun shining, birds in full song and the trails in Massey’s Estate looking class as always. Hard to beat mornings like that with good people and great company out on the hills.

Cracking run from the crew this morning, well done all 👏🏻🐾

Even on a bank holiday weekend, the hills still called and the crew answered. New faces, familiar faces, all getting stuck into the miles and soaking up the trails. That’s what it’s about — showing up, putting in the work, and enjoying it together.

April done and dusted.

Five weeks of hills, graft, and a bit of healthy rivalry thrown in for good measure. From head-down climbs to flat-out finishes, every Wednesday brought a battle — and plenty of laughs along the way.

🏆 April League Winner – Stephen Y (80 pts)
🥈 Stevie (55 pts)
🥉 Mike (42 pts)

But as always, it’s not just about the front — it’s the full group.
New faces stepping in, others grinding every week, and everyone pushing each other up that hill.

That’s what makes this club what it is.

Same road, same hill… just a different fight every week.
