"I realised the worries were my own and they were just kids" - VSI parent Grannie spoke yesterday at our second annual Beyond Vision Summit. Joined on stage by her daughters Rose and Willow they gave us a real insight into their lived experience and the impact that sport has had on their lives.

The event brought together representatives from Government, Local Sports Partnerships, National Governing Bodies for Sport, members and sector partners to champion greater access, inclusion and opportunities in sport and physical activity for people who are blind or vision impaired.

Education Bursary Applications Now Open

The bursary is aimed at supporting students with a vision impairment to pursue their academic goals by providing financial assistance of up to €2,000 per annum for the duration of their undergraduate degree up to a maximum of €8,000. The bursary is open to all students who are registered blind or vision impaired and studying a sport related course within Ireland or the UK.

Killaloe Ballina Tennis Club are hosting an open come and try session for all ages (children and adults) on Sunday 4th October. The session will take place from 11.30am - 1pm with all equipment provided. No experience is necessary with dedicated coaches on hand to offer the best advice and instructions.

🌟 Guide Running Workshop 🌟

Congratulations to participants who completed a Guide Running Workshop at Portlaoise College as part of the European Week of Sport programme on Saturday September 26th.

The course was delivered in partnership with the VIP Hub, Athletics Ireland & Laois Sports Partnership.

We were delighted to be supported by Sport Ireland to have the course included as part of the campaign.

Fantastic to have more qualified guide runners trained in the community.
