BRC Shooting Club National NASRPC shoot June 2025.
Well done to all the CRSO’s, RO’s, Helpers and Support Staff who ran a tight and efficient schedule over the weekend of shooting in the foothills of South Dublin.
We knew the shoot would be busy with +28 people on standby with all slots booked out fast.
We met old friends and saw some new faces and had some BRC members shooting their first national event.
The prone and benchrest bays were full and our turning targets system had a really good workout on the gallery rifle and pistol competitions.
Match Stats:
67 individual competitors, from 15 clubs, shooting 23 distinct disciplines, in 58 classes.
A total of 345 individual matches shot with over 12,630 rounds hitting or missing the ‘X’ not including sighters.
The largest entries were for OSBPMT, OSBP25P, GRSBTP1, OSBPTP1 followed by SBPTP1, SBP25P and GRSBMT. We noticed over the last few years with BRC being a ‘must go to’ event for Irish pistol shooters. Maybe the extra challenge of the Turning Targets system is an incentive to shoot in BRC!
The weather was mostly good with a few shooters and RO’s on the line caught out in the rain on both days.
Well done to Brian, Paul, Nicky, Alan and Tony running the Prone, Benchrest and Silhouette bays and the Bat Team of Rebecca, Vitaly and Vlad in the ‘greenhouse’ that was the Stats Cave, a big thanks to our very own Oliver for jumping in to complete the Benchrest scoring.
A big thanks to our car park attendants Liam, Adrian, John and Michael.
The Turning Target system worked well and allowed the CRSO’s and RO’s run quick schedules. We ended up adding 8 extra MT, 6 extra 25P and 4 extra TP1 matches.
A great job by the Range 3 team with Martin our scoresheet/stats runner our RO’s Marie, Anthony, Ed, Oliver, Tom and Ray and CRSO’s Rick, Alan and Frank.
A big thanks to the BRC Committee (Alan, Brian, Paul, Alan and Vitaly) and those club members who put in hours of work on our monthly work details, getting the range and facilities ready for this event.
Congratulations to East Coast Shooting Club who were the winners of the Kiel cup with 7 teams competing for this prestigious trophy.
The trophy was presented by BRC Chairman Brian Kelly to Anthony Fagan on behalf of East Coast Shooting Club.
