Glenalbyn Swimming Club We are a competitive swimming club based in South Co. Dublin. The club is always happy to welcome new members.

Glenalbyn Swimming Club is a competitive swimming club based in South County Dublin, and affiliated to Swim Ireland. When Glenalbyn Swimming Pool was closed for renovations (and never reopened), the Club lost its home and our athletes are now training in a number of pools in the local area: DLR Monkstown and Loughlinstown pools, UCD and St.Augustine's. We currently have five different squads -

each with its own coach, ranging from Tadpoles (entry-level - 7 years up) to our A-Squad (typically Irish Open qualifying standard). The club's active training programme operates for the ten-month period from September to June - with a tailored program in July for members participating in the end-of-season national galas (Irish Age Groups and Irish Open).

A huge shout-out to Ava from B Squad, who has been selected to compete with the National Para Swimming Development Squad at the National Junior Para-Swimming Championships in Coventry. This is a fantastic achievement!
Last week, Ava attended a workshop with Ellen Keane, the retired Paralympic champion and icon of Irish sport. This wasn't their first encounter, however—the two go way back! You can see some lovely highlights of their journey together on Ellen’s Instagram page here:

Coach Keith, Board Member with the Irish Swim Coaches Association presenting Double Olympian and European Gold Medalist Ellen Walsh and Her Coach Brian Sweeney with their Prizes for Swim of the Day last weekend at the Dave McCullagh International Meet.
Glenalbyn are thrilled to have placed 13th of all the Irish Clubs having qualified 21 swimmers with 16 participating.
