Really enjoyable couple of days at the Talent Identification and Development Environments Society conference at Leeds Beckett University
It was great to step outside of my S&C bubble and explore talent development from a broader, more holistic perspective. A key takeaway for me was the importance of supporting the child throughout their entire journey within the development environment — physically, mentally, socially, and developmentally — not only in the context of sport, but also in preparing them for life beyond it, regardless of whether they ultimately progress to senior or elite performance.
Lots of thought-provoking discussions, ideas, and conversations to reflect on over the coming days and weeks, which will no doubt continue to shape my thinking and practice moving forward.
