Playing out of group 6A+8 this morning @ 10am at this year's World Disability Billiards and Snooker in Korat, Thailand was Fran Coyle who faced his fellow Group 8 player and defending champion Kristof De Bruyn.

They played their match on table No.1. After an early power failure.. play resumed soon after and it was a safety duel that both players contested.

This was the pattern of the match and later on Kristof took the 1st frame. Into the 2nd and this frame followed a similar pattern. The frame was there for the taking from both players up to the colours with players spuring chances !

In the end the defending champion potted frame winning brown ball and while he gave Fran a possibility of gaining a snooker that he needed, it never materialised. In the 3rd frame Kristof began to move up a gear and soon after secured the match winning it 3-0.
Fran plays his final group match later this afternoon.

It was so close and yet so far for Fran Coyle at the World Disability Billiards and Snooker Championships in Thailand today.

Fran was edged out 3-2 by fellow Irishman Shea Fell. Fran had to give a 21 point lead to his opponent in each frame but battled to 2-2 heading into the final frame. The final frame went to the wire with Fell sinking the pink to secure the match.
