Dear Clubs and Institutions,
Our collective, CELTIC LEGENDS HANDBALL CLUB, is reaching out to ask for your kind support in promoting our movement.
Founded in October 2023, our goal is to bring together players, coaches and volunteers — whether still active or formerly involved — within Irish and Northern Irish handball, beyond any partisan considerations, in order to take part in the Masters Handball World Cup. This tournament takes place every year in May in Croatia, and our collective has already participated three times.
We already have a well-established group with growing experience year after year, and we now wish to open our doors more widely to all handball lovers who have, or have had, a connection with Irish and Northern Irish handball, in order to strengthen our collective.
Therefore, we are looking for the following profiles:
Women players: Born in 1997 or before
Men players: Born in 1992 or before
Coaches: No age restriction, other than being of legal age
Volunteers: No age restriction, other than being of legal age
In 2027, the tournament will take place from May 19th to 23rd included (Tournament ends on Saturday evening, 22nd and teams leave their hotel on Sunday 23rd) in Omiš, Croatia, on the shores of the Adriatic Sea and its wonderful spots.
Over the years, our collective has made itself at home there and has brought a typically Irish atmosphere to this international, festive and unifying event — one that allows players of all levels to enjoy a unique handball experience, whether they are still active or not.
Our crew, which brings together women and men of all ages and nationalities, has been travelling to Croatia since 2024 with no other ambition than to have fun and to offer handball lovers connected to our little emerald isle the chance to experience the sport beyond the traditional structures such as established clubs and federations.
The Masters Handball World Cup is quite simply the largest tournament and gathering of “Masters” players in the world. It welcomes teams from every continent and will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2027 — an event not to be missed under any circumstances. Moreover, the Croatian staff, thanks to their expertise over the years, do all their best to guarantee you the greatest experience ever.
For more information, our collective is organising three virtual meetings to present both our project and the tournament itself.
Don’t wait any longer — come and join one of the following virtual meetings:
Tuesday, October 6th – 7.30 pm (Irish time)
Saturday, October 10th – 10.30 am (Irish time)
Wednesday, October 14th – 7.30 pm (Irish time)
Please fill in the form to confirm your attendance at one of the meetings and receive your invitation:
