The Premier League (England) has witnessed one of the best season starts in a long time, with top teams like Man United, Tottenham and Arsenal coming back stronger than they have been in a few years. The first 7 rounds played set up expectations for a great season!

After the 7th round, both Man United & Man City share the top position with 6 wins, 1 draw and 0 losses, as well as fantastic team performance (which we haven't seen from Man United in a while)

Tottenham have also had a not-so-bad start (It's Tottenham like) to the season, winning 4 games and losing one game to Chelsea.

Arsenal & Chelsea also sit side by side in 4th and 5th positions (carrying the same points as well), both winning 4 games, and losing 2; an expected position for Arsenal, but Chelsea fans are not handling being in 4th position very well...

Liverpool on the other hand, continue to upset their loyal fans with disappointing results (nothing's changed from the last few years), and while they managed to walk all over Arsenal with a 4-0 win, it didn't do much for them as they suffered a bigger 5-0 strike from Manchester City!

Ok, so.. The Spanish League (La Liga)

Technically, there are 20 teams that compete in the Spanish league, but realistically, only 3 teams are real competitors .. maybe 5 or 6 if we include those competing for a Champions League & Europa League spot ⚽

Real Madrid, who have been the strongest team in Spain and arguably the world lately, have had a rough start in the league, winning only 4 of the 7 games played so far.

Barcelona on the other hand, have had a perfect start to the season, with 7 consecutive wins in the first 7 games.

Atletico de Madrid have also had a patchy start, with 4 wins, 3 draws and 0 losses. They still managed to hold the 4th spot in the table, ahead of Real Madrid.

Serie A (Italian League) top teams results over the weekend:

-Napoli record yet another big win against Cagliari and confirm their strength as they fly solo to first place.
-Juventus show the first signs of struggle as they draw 2-2 against Atalanta and drop down to second place.
-Inter Milan come back home with a difficult win against Benevento, putting them in 3rd place.
-AS Roma score another win at San Siro and fly to 3rd place, leaving behind a broken AC Milan.
-AC Milan prove their weakness and instability against big teams once again as they concede 2 goals and suffer a defeat at home against AS Roma.
-Lazio score an easy 6-1 win against Sassulo and continue to fight for a top 4 position.

⚽AC Milan to confirm their strength against AS Roma today⚽

-Italian side AC Milan brought back yet another Europa League win on Thursday night after a last minute strike from youngster Patrick Cutrone.
-They played Croatian side HNK Rijeka in a game that ended 3-2 for the Italians (at the last minute of the game) and stayed top of their group as a result.
-Today their challenge is a lot more difficult as they host AS Roma at San Siro (Milan's stadium)
-Roma are doing much better than Milan in Serie A Italian league), but Milan are looking to prove their strength to their fans in today's game, kicking off at 5:00pm GMT+1 time.

Note: AC Milan spent over 150 million this summer, but have failed to show much improvement and impress the fans so far.
-The team's manager is being heavily criticized and is under risk of getting sacked as a result (in my opinion, it would be better for the team).
-Europa League is an annual competition where 48 teams compete for the title of Europa League champions.

For your Man United-addicted partner, Take note:

-Man United played a Champions League match last night against CSKA Moscow.
-They played a fantastic away game and won 4-1.
-Their new signing, Romelu Lukaku, scored two goals (all the team supporters are in love with him).

Note: Champions League is an annual football competition where top-European clubs compete against each other for the final trophy. It is the most watched annual sporting event worldwide! (so it really does matter).

An away game is played on opponent's grounds rather than at home.

Man United are also doing extremely well in the Premier League, something they haven't done in a few good years! (but maybe don't mention the last part)

I can't really play football. I've never been particularly good with my feet, but that doesn't mean I can't be a football addict. It does not mean I can't sit at home and scream at the TV if my team is losing...

Yes I am a girl. Yes I watch football, and yes, I know the rules!

This blog is dedicated to all the ladies around the world who love football, not because of the players, but because of the game.

I also hope to make it a place where women can go if they want to learn about this sport, even if it's simply to shock their football-addicted partners ;)
