The United States Medical soccer team ( USMST) is a team comprised of physicians united by their passion for the "Beautiful Game" and serve the community. The USMST competed at its first World Football Championship for Medical teams in Innsbruck, Austria July 10-17, 2010. Since then the USMST has participated in the World Medical Football Championship in Manchester, England in 2011, Malmo, Sweden
in 2012, Budapest, Hungary in 2013, Natal, Brazil in 2014, and Long Beach CA, USA in 2015. Since 2013, The USMST has started to visit the Boys and Girls Club and Other centers through the United States and hold sessions on Health, Nutrition and Exercise.The Program Healthy, Fit and Smart covers topics in the Medical Field, where our doctors-teammates give presentations on their different areas of expertise, a talk on nutrition via games to make it interesting and an exercise session for the children to work on warm up, stretching and drills
In 2013 the USMST began a partnership with the American College of Sports Medicine and their program Exercise is medicine. The key issue here is that when doctors exercise themselves they are more like to prescribe exercise to their patients.
