Over the years, Miriam and I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world together 🌍❀️
From marathons and endurance events on different continents, to adventures we never imagined we'd be part of.
Our next adventure takes us back to Africa, this time to Tanzania, where we'll attempt to climb Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain on the continent πŸ”οΈ
For now, we're enjoying the preparation, the walks, the conversations, and the excitement of what's ahead.

Day 9 of DECA UK.

This isn't a finish line photo.

It's not a victory photo.

It's a photo of me sitting in the medical tent trying to hold myself together.

Days 7 and 8 had been incredibly difficult. By Day 9, winning wasn't really on my mind anymore.

My only focus was getting through the day and making it to the start line of Day 10.

I knew that if I could just get there, I'd give myself a chance.

Looking back, that's one of the biggest lessons I've learned about resilience.

Sometimes resilience isn't about winning.

Sometimes it's about staying in the game long enough to give yourself a chance.

One more day.

One more step.

One more lap.

Keep moving forward.

That's one of the lessons I'll be sharing through my Resilient By Choice talks this summer.

Boston Marathon is one of the most iconic races in the world, but what stood out most to me wasn't the finish line, the medal, or the time on the clock.

After completing challenges like DECA, Marathon des Sables, 7 marathons on 7 continents, and 60 marathons in 60 days, Boston still managed to surprise me.

In this episode, I reflect on the build-up, the atmosphere, race day itself, and the lesson the experience taught me:

Women's Mini Marathon πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

One of the best days of the year for our club.

Every year, the women of Ballymun AC show up in huge numbers, and every year they inspire us with their determination, positivity, and support for one another πŸ‘

Yes, there were some brilliant performances and fantastic times, but that's only part of the story.

What makes this day special is the atmosphere, the friendships, the encouragement, and seeing so many people challenge themselves and achieve something they're proud of.

From the start line to the finish line, and all the smiles, cheers, and celebrations in between, it was another unforgettable day for our club πŸ‘Š

Sunday morning walk πŸ‘Š

A different kind of miles lately.

Still getting the runs done, but also spending more time on the feet at walking pace as we start preparing for Kilimanjaro at the end of June πŸ”οΈπŸŒ

No pace targets, no pressure… just moving, chatting, and enjoying a slower pace for a change.
