Well the image kinda says it all. After 7 months recovery from my current injury and 15 months of the last 2 years injured, I realised that I would once again have to try quickly ramp up to fitness in a number of months, likely aggravating any weaknesses/injuries I already have. Plus life has been on hold too long at this stage and whilst I haven't given up, the priority order needs to change for the time being.
Instead the plan is to reset. Build the body back from the ground up. Spend the next 18 months building and training and then, if all is well I may look at doing the row. But rather than on & off & on again, I'm going to take the pressure off to take the time to properly prepare and not commit to a date.
It's been a hell of a journey so far and I always knew it would never be a linear line to success. But I want to thank everyone who's followed this journey so far and for your support. This process has taught me that it is the chasing of your dreams that is important, not necessarily getting there.
One day Iceland, but for now, Dublin.
