We are not.

At Takemusu Aikido Society, beginners are welcome all year round.

You don’t need to wait for September, January, or the next six-week intake.

No previous experience needed. No need to sign up months in advance. Just turn up, step onto the mat, and start learning Aikido.

Today's Balbriggan Dojo taijutsu class focused on techniques against the Morotedori attack.

Bukiwaza section was devoted to exploring some of Ken Sou Hou (剣操法 – Sword Manipulations), sword handling exercises compiled by Nemoto Sensei based on Saito Sensei's teachings and demonstrations of Aiki-ken movements. The aim of Ken Sou Hou is to explore the variety and depth of Aiki-Ken manipulations:
- Hit the Sword and Strike to the Head (Ken So Hou 4)
- Blend with the Attack and Strike to the Head (Ken So Hou 5)
- Blend and Undercut to the Chest (Ken So Hou 6)
- Drop the Sword and Cut the Wrist (Ken So Hou 8)
