🌿 Earth Altar 🌿

I created this Earth Altar yesterday morning. The stones brought a sense of grounding, the leaves a sense of aliveness and possibility and the water reminds me that everything keeps moving no matter what.

I sat by the shore with an intention to bring more authenticity to myself, others and the world. To offer my service for the greater good of all beings, human and non human.

There is healing is making space to return to ourselves in such a simple yet incredibly creative way.

For a while now, I have been in the process of dropping layers of conditioning, dropping patterns that constrict and cloud my perception of reality.

Over the years, I have seen myself getting entangled in over identification with what I do as well as wanting to be the one that ‘saves’ others from suffering.

So often these roles are taken on as part of a dynamic created within our families (among other things).

I am wanting to be the person that I desire to be, the kind, loving and the truthful one. Dropping the old layers means to stop wanting (subconsciously) to force change. I see myself more and more simply wanting to focus on being the person that I believe in. And by doing so I see the potential of change on my surroundings. That kind of change feels organic and effortless.

“Samskaras” in yoga are mental and psychological impressions formed by past actions, thoughts and experiences. How to create new samskaras that align with the vision of life and the world that we want to inhabit?

I have been asking myself this again and again. The simple answer that keeps coming back is that to break free of the chains of old patterns, we need new samskaras, new ways of being. The old pattern is broken by a new pattern. Understanding the old patterns will feed the mind body (manomaya kosha) but it won’t bring about a lasting change. The mind is a tool for understanding but the true transformation comes from a place much deeper than the mind.

In this whole process, so much compassion, love and patience is needed. For I find that the judging mind can come running so quickly towards me when I am in the middle of it all.

This process of being recreated affects how I show up with myself, with my partner, family and how I show up in my classes, with my students and those that I come in contact with.

It’s as organic as the processes that support the growth of a tree from underneath the surface.

Sharing this in the hope that it might be of relevance to you, that is reading this. And perhaps we can reassure each other that all this is part of the process. Life does not happen at the end of this process. Instead this process is life itself.

~ Yoga Online returns on Wednesday 17 June, 6.30am Ireland time ~

Yoga Sanctuary Online is an opportunity to start your day with a practice to balance your energy, awaken your mind, body and spirit. We practice meditation, pranayama, asana and somatic awareness. On self-practice and showing up

Lately it has been challenging to show up to my practice. A lot of resistance along with it. But I always tend to keep showing up even if it means meeting that resistance or a very old pattern. Because eventually something clicks and shifts.

I am offering online yoga mornings with next 4 week cycle starting on Wed 17 June 6.30-8am Ireland time. This is a bridge between attending classes and slowly turning to self-practice.

If you feel called, join me. All info in bio

~ Wild Heart ~

A brief invitation for the Wild Heart Women’s Retreat 20-23 August in

For me connecting to our wild nature is about recognising the wisdom of our bodies, our nature. In life we move through cycles. Nothing is linear. Nature reminds us that there is time when things appear stagnant yet there is always something happening under the surface. If we give enough care and attention, with the arrival of spring and summer - there will be growth, opening and aliveness.

In August the nature is pretty wild in Ireland and we are reminded that this wildness also exists within us - let’s take up space, be ourselves fully and truly.

This retreat is for women to come together and have space to rest, move our bodies, connect to our creativity and be held by the circle of women.

What to expect:
✨Daily sunrise yoga
✨Workshops including somatic explorations & art making
✨Nature based activities including waterfall excursion and earth altar making.
✨Singing & Dance
✨Community
✨Rest and self-reflection time
✨Delicious vegetarian meals prepared by .chef

~Kirtan, music, sound, nature, meditation~

Yesterday’s practice was so wonderful. Myself and Daniel came together to play and chant some mantras. We also had a little Dolly with us - she brought so much joy!

Kirtan is such a heart opening practice. Personally for me it allows me to open up my voice and merge with the sound of the mantra bringing a lot of grounding, presence and openness. I feel myself slowly opening more and more and letting my voice simply be the transmitter of the sound and words.

We will share some mantras at the upcoming Summer Gathering in on 27th June (Sat) in Co. Meath 4pm. The gathering is just a few days after the longest day of the year so come along to celebrate this beautiful time of the year in nature by the river Boyne with some yoga, Kirtan, rest, community and sauna ✨
You don’t need any experience to join :)

Wild Heart Women’s Retreat is back in the Yoga Barn 20-23 August 2026 🌿🌱🍃

This retreat is an invitation to reconnect with our wild nature (“wild” in Old English means in a natural state), drop the masks and roles we take on in everyday life to feel ourselves fully and truly.

This retreat is held in the countryside of Kilkenny in the Yoga Barn which offers a nourishing holding space for the unfolding of our wild hearts.

Over the three nights, we will come together in a group of 11 women moving our bodies, tapping into their wisdom, resting, releasing and tending to whatever needs tending.

This retreat invites you to show up fully as yourself with all your dreams and hopes as well as all that which feels messy, painful, uncertain. All parts of you are welcome.
We will come together to remember who we truly are regardless of where we are in our lives.

What to expect:
- space to be, rest and feel your body
- connection with other like minded women
- daily 2-hour sunrise Embodied Yoga integrating traditional yogic practices and somatic awareness
- workshops and rituals to deeper trust in your body’s wisdom, spark creativity and connect through movement, feeling, dancing, singing, self-expression

- daily access to sauna and cold dip on site
- wholesome vegetarian meals prepared by the amazing Michelle .chef ❤️🫶
- soulful weekend filled with movement, self-reflection, meaningful conversations, self-expression & incredible women

Anna

Saraswati is the Goddess of wisdom, art, creativity, music.

Lately I’m called back again and again to the creative power within.

This mantra resonates deep within my body. I sense myself opening up my throat, my unique expression, my voice.

Singing is such a powerful way to connect to our creative center, which is said to reside deep in our pelvis, womb or hara (lower abdomen for men). The deeper the connection to this creative force, the more open the expression through our voice.

Much love,
Jai Ma!

Grateful to for being my harmonium teacher on this journey 🫶❤️

~ In the Belly of Winter 2026 ~ We gathered over the weekend to rest in the belly of winter making space for the all that stirs underneath the surface.

After the weekend, my heart is so full of love. To come together with other women is such an honour, to see each person reveal more of themselves as the weekend goes on is simply indescribable.

Before everyone arrived Justyna read out the poem from Donna Ashworth “Just Women “ (in the picture) which then was read out by one of the participants the next day - this poem really captures the magic that took place over the weekend.

The words that came up repeatedly in our conversations and circles were TRUST & ALLOW. So many of us look for solutions to the challenges we face in our thinking mind which so often ends up in exhaustion, burnout, frustration.
This weekend was so much about dropping that & instead entering the realm of the body & tapping into its wisdom. It was about making space to feel both the uncertainly and the power in the body, to allow them to co-exist and to know we are not alone in feeling all those things.

This was my 2nd women’s retreat - I feel so grateful for having been able to witness all the magic that happened.

Last year when I decided to run my first women’s retreat, I wasn’t sure if it would work out but I knew I needed to create a space where all that I have been exploring and working with comes together. My heart melts when I see each woman showing up with so much authenticity and leaving the weekend refreshed, more trusting and more connected to her inner power.

Thank you to everyone who has made this retreat possible:
🥣Michelle .chef - for the incredible food that you made with so much love and passion! I’m so happy for you and your journey as a chef ❤️
👯‍♀️Jennifer and Justyna - my dear friends who were there to support me and who helped out with everything in between ❤️
🌿 - thank you for the beautiful essential oils - a gift to cherish during and after the retreat ❤️
🏠 for the amazing space
📷 for the Moon picture and all the other captures

With love, Anna

~ Body as a microcosm of the macrocosm ~

We experience this life through the body. It’s through the body we feel, see, hear, taste, speak. There is a deep connection between one’s body and how it interacts with others, the environment, animals and all that is.

The body is a gateway to attune to the life force that is within ourselves. Our body mirrors the natural world. It is as incredible as the whole universe. Yet we often forget about this life force, that it is so close to us, so close we cannot see it.

When we practice to see this life force within ourselves, we awaken a great connection to something incredible powerful - the source of all things.

I have come back to this realisation many times - we human beings forget about our magnitude, and how aligning with the life force within ourselves can shift completely how we view the world.

I regularity experience moments of utter joy, clarity as well as deep sadness, anger and disappointment. To return to a simple truth that is - you are a microcosm of the macrocosm- is quite a reassurance that you have all you need to move through whatever you are going through.

And the body is a gateway. When I prayed this morning, a stream of energy moved through the body - a spark of belief, a homecoming. The body experiences the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. To turn towards it is an act of listening.

How do you relate to your body? How do you return to this unchanging force that lives within you?
