As a club, we're devastated to learn of the passing of Cathal O’Hanlon today. Cathal was battling illness for several years and leaves behind a heartbroken family and a very large circle of friends.
Cathal played with the club for over 15 years and was a linchpin in the team when we won back-to-back league titles and the Corinthains cup in the most successful period of the club. In the early years Cathal was a flying winger but eventually settled into his natural position at full back where he was the model of consistency and put in many man of the match performances.
We extend our condolences to his wife Veronica and two boys Paddy & Charlie along with the O’Hanlon family. We are going to miss him deeply.
