Carbs are NOT the enemy 🫶🏼🍝
I feel like carbs are always the first thing people think they need to cut when they want to lose weight or “be good” with their food… but you really don’t.
Carbs are literally fuel. They give you energy to train, help with recovery and make eating well a lot more enjoyable 😂
Rice, pasta, potatoes, oats, bread, fruit… you can eat ALL of them and still make progress.
If you’re wondering how many carbs you actually need, a simple starting guide is:
👉 Around 3–5g of carbs per kg of body weight per day for someone doing regular/moderate training.
So for example, if you weigh 60kg:
60 × 3g = 180g carbs
60 × 5g = 300g carbs
That gives you a range of roughly 180–300g of carbs per day, depending on how active you are, how hard you train and what your overall calorie goal is.
If you’re less active, you may sit towards the lower end. If you’re training hard and often, you may need more.
And remember this isn’t a magic number. Your calories, protein, fats, activity, goals and personal preference all matter too.
It’s your overall intake that matters not one food group.
I’m a massive believer in making nutrition something you can actually stick to. No cutting out everything you enjoy, no being afraid of certain foods and definitely no trying to survive on chicken and veg 😭
Build your meals around protein, add your carbs, get some fruit & veg in and enjoy your food.
Balance over restriction. Always 🩷
