πŸ€ The Future of Donegal Town Basketball Club Depends on You

WE NEED YOU NOW

Following last week’s AGM, several vital committee positions remain unfilled, including:

β€’ Chair
β€’ Fixtures Secretary
β€’ Gym Convenor
β€’ Assistant Secretary
β€’ Assistant Treasurer

Without volunteers stepping forward to fill these roles, Donegal Town Basketball Club cannot operate next season.

An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) has been called to determine whether the club can continue.

πŸ“… Monday, June 15th
⏰ 8:00 PM
πŸ“ Abbey Hotel

⚠️ This is an urgent call to action.

If these positions are not filled:

β€’ There will be NO Donegal Town Basketball League next season
β€’ Our teams will be unable to enter North West competitions and tournaments
β€’ Players of all ages will lose the opportunity to play competitive basketball locally
β€’ The future of basketball in Donegal Town will be in serious jeopardy

This is not someone else’s responsibility. If you are a player, parent, coach, supporter, former player, or anyone who cares about basketball in Donegal Town, we need you at this meeting.

If nobody steps forward, there may be no basketball club to return to next season.

πŸ‘‰ Please attend. Get involved. Help save basketball in Donegal Town.

πŸ€ U16 GIRLS – ALL IRELAND CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS πŸ€

Our U16 girls competed at the All Ireland Club Championships in Gormanstown, showing great resilience and togetherness across both days.

Drawn in a tough group on Saturday, the girls battled hard against Kilkenny Stars, Sligo All Stars, and Limerick Huskies. While results didn’t go their way, there were plenty of positive passages of play and the effort never wavered.

They regrouped on Sunday for the C Division and delivered a strong response:

πŸ”₯ Quarter Final: DTBC 32 – 9 Carrick Cougars
πŸ”₯ Semi Final: DTBC 38 – 15 Athlone

This set up a final against Queens from Belfast. The girls started strong, taking a Q1 lead, and the game remained tight into the third quarter before Queens pulled away late.

πŸ‘ Well done girls on a brilliant season.

Best of luck to our u16 girls who are competing in the all Ireland final at 3:15 πŸ‘πŸΌβ›ΉοΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ€
