Mervue United are delighted to announce the appointment of Brendan O'Connor manager & director of football, Ollie Neary, and Paul Sinnott as the clubโs coaching team for the League of Ireland Third Tier.
All three bring a vast wealth of experience, having played at the highest level of the League of Ireland, with each representing Galway United during their careers with over 600 games between them.
The trio are also deeply connected to the history and development of Mervue United. Brendan was part of the clubโs League of Ireland First Division setup and has also coached Galway Unitedโs U19 side. Most recently, he guided Galway to Oscar Traynor Cup success this year & Maree Oranmore to Michael Byrne success.
Ollie has both played and coached at every level within Mervue United. His experience includes the clubโs U17, U19, and U21 League of Ireland teams, while he also played a key role in securing FAI Youth Cup and FAI U17 National Championship titles in 2019 and 2020.
Paul captained the clubโs first national title-winning team, lifting the Barry Cup at U16 level in 2003. He later coached alongside Brendan with Galway Unitedโs U19s and most recently worked with the Galway United Womenโs senior League of Ireland team.
Everyone at Mervue United would like to wish Brendan, Ollie, and Paul every success as they begin this exciting new chapter with the club.
