Cork Week

Cork Week www.corkweek.ie Cork Week 2022 11th - 15th of July.

The first Cork Week in 1978 was the beginning of over three decades of great sailing and fun ashore in the wonderful waters of Cork Harbour and its surrounds. The successful format includes amazing competitive racing and an incredible social scene to cater for all tastes. The Race Courses include the Harbour Race, which is sailed around Cork Harbour, and this is certainly a highlight of the week,

all other courses are sailed outside the mouth of Cork Harbour and the scenery is spectacular. Ashore at night there is a party like atmosphere in the tented village with numerous live bands playing Rock, Irish & Disco Sounds.

Race Day Three at Cork Week began under an eerie blanket of thick fog, with racing delayed as sea mist engulfed Cork Harbour and its approaches. Eventually, a south-westerly breeze swept through to lift the curtain on one of the regatta’s great stages: the iconic Cork Harbour, widely regarded as the world’s second-largest natural harbour.

Racing at Cork Week 2026 got underway in memorable style on Monday 6 July, as early morning sea mist over Crosshaven and Cork Harbour was burnt away by the rising sun, leaving bright skies and around eight knots of breeze for the first start for the Beaufort Cup fleet which set sails for the Fastnet Lighthouse.
