What may seem as a mess to some is a structured…. Mess to another 🫣😂

Example of a morning set up for one of our PT clients who is what we would call time poor i.e they have 40/45 mins to get their session in before their commitments start.

This mornings session contained

A1) hex bar dead lift x6
A2)db reverse lunge x 6-8 each side

B1) incline bench press x 10-12
B2)band assisted chins x 10-12

C1) military press x12
C2) single arm rows x 12e/s

Because of the clients experience, training age and ability to tolerate intensity the session was structured as follows :

Sets 1&2 A1&A2
Sets 3&4 A1,A2,B1& B2
Sets 5&6 A1,A2,B1,B2,C1&C2

So A is done for 6 sets , B for 4 and C for 2 total session time including rest 40 mins

* if you started your fitness journey in January and are starting to get unmotivated because of what you perceive to be lack of progress because the scale isn’t moving you need to hear this* ⚖️

As a person who allowed a weighing scales to dictate their mood, self worth and value on a daily basis for years I know how easily it is to get into a rut but I also know how hard it is to switch the voice in your head off when someone says to you to stop looking at the scales or throw it away. It’s not that easy. But it is true and it’s a relationship you must break. In this day and age there is still an obsession with the scales, the number it gives you, the power it carries for some and of course the negative feelings non movement of said scales brings to a person and how someone uses that to indicate their progress.

Listen up, folks, the number on the scale is NOT the be-all and end-all of your fitness journey. It's time we stop fixating on it and start focusing on how we feel in our own bodies. You see, the scale doesn't tell the whole story. It doesn't take into account your muscle mass, body composition, or overall health and wellbeing.

Sure, weight can be an important factor for some people, but it's not the only measure of success. The truth is, when you're eating better, sleeping better, exercising more, have more energy, and generally feel better than before, THAT is the true indicator of progress.

At the end of the day, your fitness journey is about YOU and your personal goals. It's about feeling confident, strong, and healthy in your own skin. So let's stop worrying about the scales and start focusing on the things that really matter - like improving our overall health and wellbeing. Trust me, the results will speak for themselves. Keep up the hard work, and let's crush those fitness goals together!

Losing .5pounds a week is still amazing progress

Maintaining an all time low weight is progress

There is a wealth of research showing that sitting for prolonged periods can lead to numerous health problems such as high blood sugar, increased blood pressure, and unhealthy cholesterol levels.

To address these issues, more people are focusing on reducing the amount of time they spend sitting in 2023. Some ways to achieve this include setting inactivity alerts on fitness trackers, standing up while taking phone calls, using treadmill desks, and taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

But it's not just about sitting less, it's also about moving more. Regular physical activity has numerous benefits for your overall health and well-being. It can help improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones and muscles, and reduce the risk of developing chronic conditions such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Aiming for a baseline of at least 4000 steps per day is a good starting point for incorporating more movement into your daily routine.

So in short, the message is clear: sit less, move more, and live a healthier, more active life. Use the hashtags to share your journey and engage with others who are working towards similar goals.

⭐️ Transformation Tuesday ⭐️

Very excited to share what can only be described as an incredible journey with

From our initial meeting it was made clear that this was never going to be another 30/60/90 day transformation. This was no quick fix or short term solution . This was going to be a complete lifestyle change and Valerie bought into this from day 1.

There was no magic pills potions , diets or ridiculously low calorie diet plans. In fact nothing was off the table in terms of food or drink but it was about balance and keeping things as simple as possible and understanding there are good and bad days, probably more bad days then good but it was about trusting the process and staying disciplined and not relying on motivation

Like anyone else Valerie had weddings, worked two and sometimes three jobs, birthdays, holidays, nights out , Christmas, work trips , trips away with no access to a gym and she accepted that it was not always going to be perfect and that if she remained 80% consistent 100% of the time she’d still make progress. And progress she made 😊

Words can’t really do Valerie’s transformation justice but outside of the physical transformation the biggest highlight for me as a coach was how she has taken herself from being someone with very little confidence in exercising on her own in a gym setting to now powering out 3/4 sessions on her own every week

Wanna know what Valerie’s secret was

- hard work
- strength training x3/4 times per week
-protein and calorie target
-water
-step count
- and a s**t ton of patience in both good and not so good times

Well done again and here’s to the next phase of the journey 😎
