What a day we had at the club yesterday for the **Women Take the Helm Race!** ⛵️

Seven boats took to the water for a fantastic afternoon of sailing, with a North-Easterly breeze of 11–15 knots providing some great racing.

There were some incredibly close finishes, making for an exciting afternoon on the water! 👏

A huge well done to everyone who took part. The winners will be announced at our **End of Season Dinner Dance**. 🏆🥂

Courtown Sailing Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Robbie Ireton, a true Harbour man, a great friend and a tremendous supporter of our Club.

Robbie was always there when help was needed. No matter what the job, or what hour of the day or night, you could call on Robbie and he would do everything he could to help. His generosity with his time, his knowledge and his support for Courtown Sailing Club over many years will never be forgotten.

Robbie cared passionately about Courtown Harbour and its future. He was one of the driving forces behind getting the beach renourishment and marina project moving, and right up until his final days he was still pushing, questioning and encouraging everyone involved to keep the project progressing. He genuinely wanted to see Courtown Harbour restored and secured for future generations.

Robbie wasn't afraid to speak his mind, particularly when it came to something he believed would benefit Courtown and its community. His determination, humour and love of the Harbour made him a very special part of life around Courtown.

Above all, Robbie was a true Harbour man, and his presence around the harbour will be greatly missed by everyone at Courtown Sailing Club and by the wider Courtown community.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Mary, the Ireton family, his grandchildren, extended family and his many friends.

Fair winds and following seas, Robbie.
You will be greatly missed around Courtown Harbour.

From the Commodore, Committee and all the members of Courtown Sailing Club.
