What a weekend for UCC Rowing Club at the 2026 Irish Rowing Championships.

Walking away with FOUR national titles: Women’s Intermediate 8+, 4+ and 2-, and Men’s Club 4+. Sweeping all three Women’s Intermediate boats makes us the second club ever to do that at the Championships.

Outside of wins, we saw incredible performances from across the squad: our Women’s Senior 8+ posted the second fastest time in the country, beaten only by Trinity/Skibbereen, with further strong results in the Women’s Senior 4-, Women’s Senior 4x- and Men’s Club 1x. 22 crews entered across the weekend, 11 reaching A Finals, a clear sign of the depth building through the squad.

Congratulations to everyone who raced this weekend, and to all our graduates, you’ll be missed. Congratulations to our outgoing committee, good luck to the incoming one, and thank you to our coaches and UCC Sport for the support this season.

A huge thank you to for their generous support of UCC Rowing Club this season. With their sponsorship, we have upgraded our VHF radio communications and added a new engine to our fleet: two upgrades that make a real difference to safety on the water, right as racing season gets underway.

We are lucky to call the River Lee home, and what makes our stretch of water truly unique is that we share it with an active working port. That kind of partnership requires trust, communication, and mutual respect which the Port of Cork always ensure. We are proud to have their support and grateful for their ongoing commitment to ensuring this river works safely for everyone who uses it.
