Douglas Hall LFC Yellow 0 Midleton 2

A two nil victory for our girls doesn’t tell the full story of a close, nervy game in Douglas this evening. Both sides had chances in the first half with vast majority falling to the magpies. Sarra, Aliya and Sasha were left scratching their heads as to how their efforts didn’t go in. The chances continued to flow in the second half and Sasha got her reward for a superb nights effort when she struck sweetly to the net after great work from Sarra and Hannah in the build up. The girls kept pushing but the longer it stayed at 1 nil the pressure began to build. Huge credit to Douglas who upped the ante and put us under massive pressure with Fiadh, Yasmin, Lucy, Emily & Aisling defending heroically. Our goalkeeper and player of the match Keelin just about kept the clean sheet with a series of last gasp saves 👏.
From a late break Sasha set Sarra away - her shot was saved into the path of Aliya who finished to seal the win.

All the girls really played their part but Niamh and Emily were outstanding. Thanks to Douglas Hall and referee Alan for such a sporting game.
