Following the sold-out World Premiere at the 2026 Bloomsday Festival, in this bold reimagining of James Joyce’s ‘The Dead’, Gretta Conroy takes centre stage at the Misses Morkan’s annual supper party. A night filled with music, dancing and genteel skirmishes. 🎶💃

Gretta has it all: a house by the sea, a gentleman’s family, and a romantic night in The Gresham planned with her dutiful husband Gabriel. 🏡🌊❤️ But when a love song from her past unearths long-buried memories, Gretta is landed at a crossroads weighing up the choices that shaped her, and the path that lies ahead. 🎵🛤️

If you are a fan of Joyce and ‘The Dead ’, come and see the story as told from Gretta’s point of view. 📖 Gretta gives voice to the preoccupations of mid-life, motherhood and marriage – the secrets you share with your friends in the early hours of the morning. 🌙
This unique production expands the female voice in the Joyce canon beyond Molly Bloom, and Nora & Lucia Joyce. 👩

We’re delighted to be returning to classes tomorrow and can’t wait to welcome back both familiar and new faces for another exciting year at Montfort College of Performing Arts!

More than 100 of our classes are now completely sold out with very limited availability remaining in many others.

We’ve received lots of enquiries about trial classes. Unfortunately due to classes being full we’re unable to offer trials in every class and studio. Trial places are currently available only in the classes listed here.

Montfort College of Performing Arts returns from Monday 7th September with classes at locations across Cork City and County.

It promises to be another incredible year, packed with real stage time and exciting performance opportunities for our students, including:

⭐ The Little Mermaid – our Christmas pantomime at the Firkin Crane

Students can also work towards examinations with internationally recognised examining bodies across all subjects.

🌟 One of our own on screen tonight! 🌟

We’re so delighted to see our wonderful drama teacher Niamh Cremin starring in 'Swing Bout', a tense, knockout drama airing on RTÉ2 this evening at 9:35pm! 📺

Niamh teaches our Saturday drama classes in the South Ring, and we’re thrilled to celebrate her work on screen with our Montfort friends.

I had the privilege of knowing Elmarie for over 30 years and during that time she was an incredible and truly inspirational woman. Despite everything she faced she did so with courage and dignity, and throughout her illness she was always in wonderful spirits bringing warmth, energy and positivity to everyone around her.

I have never known anyone so busy—a teacher, presenter, performer and a familiar and much-loved voice both on stage and across the airwaves. She championed everyone around her and was a tremendous supporter of the Montforts, which meant so much to me and the late Eileen Nolan. I have no doubt that Elmarie and Eileen will enjoy some wonderful chats together again.

Rest in peace Elmarie, you will be deeply missed by so many.

Our deepest condolences go to her beloved husband Conor, who worshipped the ground she walked on and to all her family and many friends at this incredibly difficult time.
