Mallow United 0–3 Ringmahon Rangers

Our U11s remain top of the Premier League after an extremely positive performance in horrendous conditions on Saturday in Mallow.

Credit to both teams, who dug deep to put on a great show despite the challenging weather conditions.

Playing against the wind and driving rain in the first half, Ringmahon created some of the best chances, with a couple of opportunities narrowly missing the target.

The lads did brilliantly to get the ball down and play football as best they could in very difficult conditions. With the game scoreless at the break, both sides were happy to get indoors for a well-deserved rest.

In the second half, our lads upped the tempo and took a deserved lead when Mason Hayes produced a calm and precise finish.

Through hard work and determination, captain Lewis Fitzpatrick doubled the lead in the 50th minute, bundling the ball over the line to make it 2–0.

The best was yet to come! Zach Horgan picked up the ball outside the box and unleashed a thunderbolt with his left foot, sending the ball crashing into the top corner. A fantastic strike and a definite Goal of the Season contender!

The game finished 3–0, keeping our lads firmly at the top of the Premier League.

👏 Well done to both teams for an entertaining game played in such challenging conditions.

⭐ Best on the day: Mason Hayes, Filipe Borges and man of the match James O’Regan all put in outstanding performances.

A special mention goes to our goalkeeper, Damien Harrington, who picked up a nasty injury in training midweek.

In what can only be described as horrendous conditions, our girls battled hard and showed fantastic determination from start to finish! 💪🌧️

The girls were rewarded for their efforts in the first half, going 3-0 up with Shauna getting on the scoresheet and Brooke grabbing a brace! ⚽⚽⚽

With the weather so bad, we had to keep rotating the girls to try to keep everyone warm and fresh. Despite the challenging conditions, the team continued to work hard and give it their all.

Leeside came out fighting in the second half, pulling a goal back before being awarded a penalty to make it 3-2. The final ten minutes were end-to-end, with both teams battling hard, but our girls dug deep and showed great resilience to hold on to their lead and secure a fantastic result! 👏

From number 1 to number 12, every single girl worked tirelessly and deserved every bit of this win. The commitment, effort and team spirit shown by the girls in such awful conditions were brilliant to see. ❤️🖤

Brooklyn was outstanding in the middle of the pitch today! She covered every blade of grass, working tirelessly up and down the pitch and giving absolutely everything for the team. A fantastic performance and a thoroughly deserved Player of the Match! 🏆👏

Carrigaline United 0–3 Ringmahon Rangers

Six wins from six as Ringmahon extend their lead at the top!

Ringmahon Rangers continued their outstanding start to the Gary Comerford Premier Division with an impressive 3–0 victory away to Carrigaline United, maintaining their 100% record and moving six points clear at the top of the table.

Ringmahon started the game on the front foot and were desperately unlucky not to take an early lead, with Carrigaline goalkeeper Rian Healy producing a superb save to deny the visitors. However, it was only a matter of time before Ringmahon settled into their rhythm and began to move the ball brilliantly through midfield.

The opening goal arrived after some excellent play from David Dipeau, whose superb cross was met by Mason Stanton. Following another excellent save from Healy, Stanton reacted quickest to tuck the rebound home and give Ringmahon a deserved 1–0 lead after just ten minutes.

Ringmahon doubled their advantage ten minutes before half-time following a quick throw-in from Brooklyn Condron to Stanton. The midfielder worked a brilliant angle before rifling the ball across the goalkeeper and into the net to put Ringmahon firmly in control at 2–0.

The second half saw Ringmahon produce another outstanding team performance, with the defensive unit of Anthony Kennelly , Michael Andrews, Brooklyn Condron and Bobby Brett delivering an excellent display in front of goalkeeper Rory Wallace.

In midfield,Kyle O Donovan , Aaron Delaney and Stanton combined beautifully, while Dipeau and the impressive Andrew O’Shaughnessy caused Carrigaline plenty of problems out wide. Leading the line, Ferinand Kokou was outstanding throughout, providing strength, determination and a constant threat to the home defence.

The third goal was a fantastic example of Ringmahon’s ability to turn defence into attack. Following a Carrigaline break, the ball found its way into Wallace’s hands. The Ringmahon goalkeeper immediately launched a long ball over the top, and Kokou showed tremendous strength to battle past the centre-back before showing great bravery and composure to collect the ball and lift it over the advancing goalkeeper to make it 3–0.

Ringmahon made several changes during the final 20 minutes, with Jason Harrington, Adam Cooney, T***s Lynch, Luka Morley and Brian O’Shaughnessy all entering the action and making impressive contributions to another excellent team performance.

The result sees Ringmahon move six points clear at the summit, with Mallow Town and Carrigaline United among the sides chasing the league leaders.

The boys will return to the training ground this week to prepare for another tough challenge against Leeside next weekend.

The statistics speak for themselves: six wins from six games, 29 goals scored and just two conceded. An incredible start to the campaign from this talented group.

The lads have advanced the 4th round and open draw of the Munster Junior Cup after a battling 2-1 win over Everton last night. Goals coming from Alan Higgins and Dylan O Regan .
