U13 Roy Keane Premier League
Ringmahon Rangers 3-2 Kinsale

Ringmahon Rangers moved to within one point of Midleton after an excellent 3-2 victory over Kinsale in a fiercely contested match played in intense heat.

The opening 20 minutes were a stalemate, with both sides cancelling each other out and finding little room to create clear chances. The deadlock was finally broken in spectacular fashion when Dean O’Donovan unleashed a stunning cross-shot that flew into the top corner to give Ringmahon the lead.

Kinsale responded immediately and levelled the game at 1-1, which is how the sides went in at half-time.

Ringmahon emerged for the second half with renewed energy, inspired by captain Adam Cooney’s leadership. Their second goal came after a superb team move involving Adam Duggan, Mason Fitzpatrick, Adam Cooney and Dean O’Donovan. The ball eventually fell to Adam Duggan, who rifled home a superb strike to restore Ringmahon’s advantage.

Sean, Jamie, Mossy and Leo were outstanding throughout, while Evan remained calm and assured in goal. The midfield trio of Marcel, Adam Cooney and Mason Fitzpatrick worked tirelessly, supporting Adam Duggan up front. Ollie and Dean also put in tremendous shifts on the wings.

Kinsale battled back once again to make it 2-2 with 10 minutes remaining, setting up a tense finish.

The decisive moment arrived when Ringmahon won a free kick. Jamie Mullane delivered an excellent cross into the box and Dean O’Donovan rose highest to finish expertly with a header, securing a dramatic 3-2 victory and moving the young Rangers to within touching distance of the league title.

Huge credit goes to all the players and management for another outstanding performance. Thanks also to Kinsale, who put everything on the line and contributed to a fantastic game of football.

We go again on Friday.
