Kinsale Hockey Club Kinsale Hockey Club, Est 2012 It all started when the IHA introduced their 'Tricks for Sticks' programme to the primary schools in the town.

Kinsale Hockey Club was founded in 2012 by a group of hockey loving volunteers who wanted to bring the sport to their local community. The objectives of this programme were to introduce the sport to the primary school children in the area with the aim of setting up a local junior hockey club which would eventually lead to a senior club in the town. We never expected how this idea would take off!

In May 2012 we held 4 taster sessions for all children aged between 6-14 in Saile and had 80 children in attendance including a group of students from Kinsale Community School. Following a series of meetings in the community it was decided that there was an opening for a hockey club in Kinsale. The first meeting of Kinsale Hockey Club took place on Monday 31st August in the Trident Hotel. Our first official training session was held in Saile on 5th October 2012 and they have been an immediate success. The support we have recieved from Irish Hockey Association, in particular Phil Oakley, Saile Community Centre, Cork Local Sports Partnership, the local media, local schools and the parents of all our members has been unprecendented. We look forward to a bright future for hockey in Kinsale.......

What a fantastic evening on Friday night for Kinsale Hockey Club at the Munster Branch Hockey Ireland Awards Night in the Cork International Hotel.
Our U18 girls were presented with their League Trophy, completing a superb cup and league double for the season. The club committee also proudly accepted a Merit Award in recognition of our commitment to the development of underage hockey across the Munster region.
Antoinette Cooney, (chairperson) received an award acknowledging her contribution to hockey.
Many thanks to the Munster Branch Hockey Ireland for a wonderful evening and for recognising the dedication and hard work taking place throughout our club. Munster Hockey

Big day for Kinsale Hockey today, celebrating our U18 Girls, worthy winners of the Munster Cup Final, winning 5-1 against Limerick today in GarryDuff. A first for the team and a first for Kinsale Hockey Club. What a season it's been winning both the Munster League and Munster Cup. Thank you to Limerick for a great match today, to the umpires and munster hockey branch who made today possible. Big shout out to the U18 girls who have trained hard and played hard all season, coach Rob and manager Antoinette who have worked with this team for three seasons and all parents, grand parents, siblings and the whole club who have supported this team and our U18 sponsors Hegarty Horgan Solicitors and Autoroller.ie
