CWSSL have believed for some time that female soccer should have its own soccer centre which would be a permanent focal point for female soccer in Cork. Our League has grown substantially over the last 8 years when in 2014 we had 52 teams participating in our league, we now have over 200 teams from all ages from U10 to adults. We expect this growth to continue well into the future. All clubs in ou
r league believe in this goal. To date we have also got support from the FAI, SFAI, and local politicians and all see this as fantastic opportunity for Cork and female soccer. Over the last few months we identified Casement Park as a suitable location and we are delighted to have entered into a partnership with Casement Celtic to redevelop the grounds to include a full size International standard astro pitch with flood lighting, dressing rooms, warm up area and upgrade of the grass pitch. A CLG has been formed, planning and funding applications are submitted and fundraising is underway.
