❤️🤍 U16 CHAMPIONSHIP | ROUND 1 🤍❤️
Our U16 girls travelled to Cobh on Sunday, 30th August, to get their Championship campaign underway, facing into some absolutely miserable conditions. 🌧️🏐
From the very first whistle, the girls knew they were in for a battle. Cobh were a strong, physical and well-organised team, and with the wind against us in the first half, it was a tough shift for our girls. They battled hard and gave it everything they had, but half-time couldn’t come quick enough.
A few changes were made at the break and some fresh legs were introduced as we tried to turn things around. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t our day. The second half continued to be difficult, with a number of injuries along the way, and Cobh went on to take control of the game.
👏 **Huge congratulations to the Cobh girls on an impressive performance**, and best wishes to their management and team for the rest of the Championship.
For our own girls, it’s a game to take the learnings from. ❤️ Championship football can throw plenty at you, and there is still lots of football to be played.
**Hard luck girls.** You battled right to the end, and that’s all anyone can ask. Keep the heads up, recover well and come back stronger. 💪❤️🤍
