🔷 Upper Body Warm Up Routine:

Here’s a quick and simple 6 minute warm up routine for an upper body lifting session! 💪🏼

Start with 1 minute of skipping to get the heart and respiratory rate up 🙂

Followed by some mobility & activation exercises for 30 seconds each:
◦ Cobra to sit back
◦ Latt floor stretch
◦ Birddog
◦ Side lying open the book
◦ Band pull aparts
◦ Press ups

Start your upper body sessions, be it push or pull or any upper body routine with relatively lightweight before moving into heavier lifts!

Short on time? ⏰

Here’s a quick and easy Barbell complex workout you can do in 20 mins or less (including warm up) 😎

1 round = 5 exercises, 5-8 reps each before moving onto the next exercise. Keep the weight in hand until each round is complete. Take 20-30 secs rest between each round.

🔹 Squat with two second pause
🔹 Reverse Lunge (e/l)
🔹 Overhead Press
🔹 Bent Over Row
🔹 Upright Row

I did 5 rounds of 5, but anything between 5-8 reps is plenty 👌
5 x 5 x 8 = 200 reps!! ✊

Try it at home and let us know what you think 😊 If you don’t have a bar just use a kettlebell or free weight!!

Despite what Alan might have to say the first A stands for Anna 🤪

Hi everyone! Anna here. I’ve been working as a personal trainer along side Alan for the past 4 years helping clients build confidence and achieve their goals in the gym. I enjoy variety in my workouts and trying different styles and training methods with clients. This includes more than just gym training and I really enjoy outdoor activity!

Alan has been working in the industry for over 6 years! As a personal trainer and nutrition coach he has worked with clients with various goals from sport specific training to injury recovery. Make sure to look out on our page for client transformations and testimonies from his past clients and the new clients who he will be dealing with as our head of nutrition at AVA.

Vinny will be looking after all our Strength and Conditioning clients at AVA.
It’s hard to narrow his interest down to a few hobbies but he’s passionate for all things outdoors including trail running, hiking, GAA and swimming. Most likely to be found running in the mountains!!
