🌾 A HUGE SUNDAY OF SHEAF THROWING THIS AUGUST 16th! 🌾

​Mark your calendars! We have three fantastic events taking place across the country on Sunday, 16th August. Whether you're competing for silverware, trying your hand for the first time, or cheering from the sideline, there is somewhere for you to be!

​Here is where the pitchforks will be flying:

​1️⃣ Camross Vintage Club – Co. Laois
​📍 Location: Camross Village (Eircode: R32 TX8Y)

​This year’s competition holds special significance as we honor the memory of the late Paddy Delaney, one of the legendary figures of professional sheaf throwing who sadly passed away earlier this year.
​The Paddy Delaney Memorial Cup (Senior Competition – presented by Paddy’s brother, Billy)
​The Pat Hennessy Cup (Novice Competition)
​Ladies Competition & numerous other trophies up for grabs!
​A huge day of tradition, steam engines, threshing, and top-tier throwing.

​2️⃣ Mullagh Agri Show – North Clare
​📍 Location: Mullagh, Co. Clare

​Mullagh Show is back, and they are introducing a BRAND NEW Sheaf Throwing Competition to their lineup this year! Let’s get out and give full backing to the local show committee for putting sheaf throwing on the main stage. Great family day out with livestock, local stalls, and live entertainment!

​3️⃣ Kilmurry.Com Harvest Festival – East Clare
​📍 Location: Kilmurry, Co. Clare

​Heading to Clare? The Kilmurry Harvest Festival Field Day features their annual open sheaf throwing competition alongside vintage machinery, horse displays, and family fun. A great pitch for anyone looking to test their technique or pick up a fork for the first time!

​🙌 Best of luck to all organizers, competitors, and venues! Pick your spot next Sunday and throw high!

Brilliant to see sheaf throwing getting some fantastic attention down in Gort this Saturday, 8th August! 🌾💪

​With 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies up for grabs across both the men's and women's competitions, it’s shaping up to be a mighty day of action at the Gort Community Centre (H91 K7YA).

​Thanks to the Gort & District Show team for putting it on—best of luck to everyone stepping up to the fork this weekend! 🏆✨

​Action gets underway at 1 PM today at the Loughrea Agri Show.

​We have Men's & Women's Open and Men's & Women's Under-25 competitions running, with cash prizes up for grabs in all categories!

Upcoming Agricultural Show Weekend! 🚜🌾

​Get ready for a massive Bank Holiday weekend of family fun, agricultural tradition, and top-class sheaf throwing across the country! Make sure to come out and give the fork a go at these fantastic events:

​Saturday, August 1st:
Loughrea Agri Show – Kick off the weekend with us in Galway for a great day featuring live music, family attractions, and competitive sheaf throwing.

​Monday, August 3rd (Bank Holiday Monday):
A double-header of brilliant shows:

Tinahely Agricultural Show (Wicklow) – A wonderful family day out with plenty of action in the ring and on the pitch.

Bonniconlon Agricultural Show (Mayo) – Always an incredible day out west! With Mayo celebrating their historic All-Ireland win last Sunday, the party will no doubt still be going strong at the show. 🟢🔴

​All of these shows feature top-tier sheaf throwing competitions, so come along, cheer on the competitors, and be sure to give it a go yourself! See you all there! 💪🌾
