This morning, our community had the pleasure of honouring Aileen J Convery, who became AG European Champion in the 100m backstroke last week.

Alongside gold in her individual race, she brought home silver and bronze from two relay events.

Quiz Night 🎉

Our next fundraiser is Saturday, September 19th at Kavanaghs Pub, Laurel Lodge.

RAY SHAH has kindly donated his time to be quizmaster and DJ for the night — thank you, Ray ❤️

There’ll be prizes for the winners on the night, plus a raffle.

You’ll see “many deserving charities” mentioned on all our fundraisers, but this one has a specific goal: fold-out chairs that turn into beds, for parents staying overnight with sick kids in St Vincent’s Hospital.

With smaller events like this, I’d rather not raise for huge charities — I’d prefer to make a difference, however small. A fold-out chair might not sound like much to some, but if you’re spending weeks by a sick child’s bedside, it matters. Hospital grade chairs/beds cost around €3,000, so hopefully we can contribute a couple more ❤️.

Dave, his wife Carmel and son Tadgh completing our 10km challenge: a 10km run followed by 10km each on the bike, rower, and ski erg.

Eight months ago, Dave told me he’d been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his kidney. A day like today felt a million miles away.

Over 100 members showed up to back him, and together we raised more than €11,000 (and counting) for the Irish Kidney Association.

Thank you to everyone who turned out and made it such a brilliant day. And thank you to , , , and for sponsoring the event.

Days like this are a reminder of how fragile life is — and how special this community is. Forever grateful. ❤️

Back in October 2025, Dave faced his toughest battle yet when he was diagnosed with renal cancer. By the grace of God, the tumor was successfully removed, and today he is fully on the road to recovery! 🙏

This Saturday, we are celebrating his strength and giving back. We are hosting a fundraiser for the Irish Kidney Foundation.

🏋️‍♂️ The Challenge (Teams of 2)
The Run: 5km run together 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
The Gym: 5km Ski, 5km Row, and 5km Bike (split between you)

Feeling brave? There is a 10km option for all of the above if you really want to push your limits!

📍 The Details

Cost: Absolutely free! We just ask that you donate what you can to Dave’s GoFundMe (link is in our stories!).

When: This Saturday, starting at 6:00 AM (waves running all morning).

If you’re driving around the Riverwood/Luttrellstown area on Saturday morning and see us out running, give us a beep and some support.

This event marks the launch of a massive campaign for the second half of 2026. In memory of my sister, Rebecca, we are aiming to raise €100,000 for various charities by the end of this year.
