๐ขโช๏ธ Cork City Marathon, Half & 10k ๐ขโช๏ธ
Clonmel AC athletes were out in force across the Cork City Half Marathon, 10k and Marathon events on what proved to be a challenging day for runners throughout Cork City.
Leading the way for the club in the Half Marathon was David Mansfield with a chip time of 1:12:15, finishing 10th overall in a hugely competitive field. Ian Patterson also ran strongly for a time of 1:38:20, while Ruth Hally was first Clonmel AC female home in the half in a time of 1:39:03.
David Lorigan continued the strong performances with a time of 1:40:42, while Michael Ryan finished well in 1:48:02. Grzegorz Kecik crossed the line in 1:54:01, followed by Anne Marie Halpin in 1:56:26.
Alan Kennedy completed the course in 1:58:35 alongside Billy Kerton in 1:59:30, while Liam Connolly finished the Half Marathon in 2:00:45 after already completing the Cork City 10k earlier that morning before making his way across the city to the Half Marathon start line also to take on a second race of the day!
Clare OโReilly produced a strong run for 2:02:57, with Aoife McGrath finishing in 2:06:06. Ned OโBrien once again showed remarkable consistency and determination, completing the event in 2:12:28 in the M70 category. Ger Gunne also represented the club proudly with a time of 2:13:52, while Eamonn English completed the course in 2:18:16.
Earlier in the morning, Clonmel AC athletes also lined out in the Cork City 10k. Anthony Power led the club performances with a strong run of 42:55, while Michael McNamara completed the course in 49:11. Liam Connolly also took part in the 10k, running a controlled 52:24 as he knew he would quickly be making his way over to the Half Marathon start line also!
In the Full Marathon, Garry Hallinan represented Clonmel AC superbly over the 26.2-mile distance, showing great determination and resilience to finish in a chip time of 5:12:56.
Well done to all Clonmel AC athletes who travelled, raced and represented the club so well across another fantastic Cork Marathon weekend. A huge thanks also to the organisers, volunteers and supporters who helped create a brilliant atmosphere throughout the city.
