Claremorris 3 - 2 Ballinrobe 🏆🥇
Claremorris U13A hosted Ballinrobe in the final round of the U14 Division 3A campaign knowing that they would win the league if they avoided defeat. We started strongly and played some characteristically flowing football, and the breakthrough finally came when Ryan teed up Conall with a beautiful through ball and he made no mistake. Our intensity inexplicably dropped after scoring and Ballinrobe pulled 1 back from an exquisite free kick from distance leaving James with no chance. However, shortly before half time Ethan nestled the ball in the corner, a well worked team goal, 2-1 at half time. Shortly after the restart, Darragh pounced on a mistake at a corner and after that, while we had the lions share of possession, we lacked pe*******on up front. Mistakes began to creep in at the back and Ballinrobe should have grabbed a 2nd but for some acrobatics by James. They did eventually do just that when we failed to clear the ball a number of times and they pounced. Things got a little nervy but we managed to hold out for the win! Congratulations boys on a fantastic and unexpected campaign, the future is very bright for these boys! Thanks to all the supporters who were there to celebrate with them.

Claremorris AFC U16 Boys succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Westport United at Concannon Park, Claremorris yesterday afternoon in the Mayo Youths League.
It was a trying game, but not a ‘Crying Game’ as the lads played their hearts out but could not better the opposition who practically dominated the second half, with stylish play. The home team were 1-0 up at half time thanks to a crakin' goal from Daniel Healy. Somehow, Claremorris could not add to their tally and were made to defend their goal line more often. Two opportune goals, on from a corner and the other from a long kick-out sealed the deal for the Westport boys.

Lining out today were David Walsh, Aaron Gill, Emmet Burke, Ross Connolly, Faustas Guaditis, Charlie Hanley, Jason Garvey, Mark Warde, Nojus Guaditis, Sean Corcoran, Daniel Healy & Sacha Perez.

Claremorris U21s followed up their impressive 9-0 victory over Westport B on the opening weekend of the u21 league with a hard won away victory over Fahy Rovers. Fahy were tough opponents, pressing very effectively, but Claremorris started stretching the game, and Ben Smyth got on the end of great free kick delivery by captain James Morley to make it 1-0.

Fahy were still making it difficult for Claremorris, but the influential James Morley was having a stronger impact on the game. After gliding past 2 Fahy players, he whipped in a glorious cross, finished by Ben Smyth, getting his 2nd of the game and 4th in two games.
Fahy went very direct shortly afterwards and got back into the game with two quick fire goals as Claremorris couldn't deal with the direct style of play and made it 2-2 at half time.
Claremorris came out in the second half with more desire and dominated the second half's possession and chances, but Fahy were stubborn and defended resolutely. Claremorris eventually got the goal they deserved, Fionn McLoughlin reacting fastest after a corner.
This makes it 2 wins from 2 and leaves Claremorris at the top of the table with Snugboro their next opponents in Concannon park next weekend

*SFAI U12 Cup Round One*
*Claremorris C 3-0 Manulla B*
For the 11am kick-off in Concannon Park our U12C Boys battled to victory in a performance of skill & determination. These boys are a year younger than most other teams in the competition & the experience will serve them well for next year.

In the first half Claremorris had the lions share of possession but the physicality of Manulla kept the boys at bay to keep the half scoreless.

After the break our boys stepped up the gears & a fantastic strike by Mattie into the top corner set them on their way. Tarik scored with a neat finish & Ted added the third with a well taken strike.
Well done to all the boys, Darragh, Danny, Cillian, Noah, Jack, Leo, Aidan & Conor on a excellent team performance⚽️⚽️

Claremorris U12A team took on Mervue United in the SFAI cup in Concannon Park this afternoon. Our lads started really well, playing some fantastic football, and were the better team in the first half, but we just couldn't make the breakthrough. The second half was much more even, with both sides creating chances. Midway through the half Mervue took the lead when a miss-hit shot took a deflection and a wicked bounce around our keeper. Despite putting huge pressure on, the lads just couldn't find the goal their performance deserved, and Mervue held out to win 1-0. A cruel loss for the lads against illustrious opponents, but a performance they can be extremely proud of. Their workrate and skill all over the pitch was fantastic, and as coaches, we are very proud of the whole group. Thanks to everyone for the brilliant support. Squad: Leo, Niall, Conor, Senan, Sean, Seamie, Gearoid, Oscar, Luke, Liam, Brian, AJ, Bobby and Arthur.

A convincing 6-1 win in the trophy semi-final for Claremorris u16B's against a strong Ballina side, a massive performance all across the pitch with 20 players all making a substantial contribution. Not least the goal scorers David Torres (2), Yan Faria (2), Izaias Bitencourt and Mihai-Alin Jirebie. Ballina will feel hard done by with the overwhelming nature of the final score as they really were a lot better on the day than the score line would suggest, but Claremorris were fully deserving of their victory with a solid and consistent team performance, despite the many substitutions and changes throughout the 80 mins the lads really showed the importance of strength in depth for a squad and despite a ten minute purple patch before half time they were dominant right throughout despite the best efforts of a strong Ballina team. The win sets up a mouth-watering final with rivals Westport to be played in Milebush during mid to late October.

Claremorris girls Under 8s travelled this Sunday morning to Manulla to take on their Manulla counterparts on a perfect day for football. Sun was shining and under foot conditions on the astro were perfect.
The girls lined up in a 9 aside team and started the game really well, working very hard for the ball and playing some great football.
First few minutes were cagey with the girls taking some time to get to grips with the astro pitch but just before the end of the first quarter Claremorris broke the deadlock with a well worked goal from Etain.
Claremorris didn't let up and grew in confidence with a second goal coming shortly after.
The girls all showed great hunger to get on the ball and followed their tactical directions from their coaches perfectly and this was evident with great defending and free flowing football from all the girls. Aoife and Yasmin shared the goalkeeping duties and the clean sheet at the end says it all. Yasmin, Zoe,Maria and Aoife were outstanding in defence and pressuring the Manulla back line showing great tackling and dribbling skills.Caoilfhionn,Evie and Lauren were relentless all day hunting down the ball and giving Manulla players no time to set themselves.
Claremorris dominated possession and with this the goals followed,
Ali and Etain were the goalscorers on the day with 2 for Ali and 5 for Etain who were composed and clinical when it was needed most.
Overall it was a great team performance by all the players who all played so well and today we seen how much they have improved and developed since the start of the season. Thank you to Manulla for hosting and to all the players and Parents for their support.👍🇳🇬🏐

Claremorris U10 B team enjoyed a well earned, hard fought win away to Manulla this morning.
It was the hosts who opened the scoring in the early minutes of the game, the Claremorris girls found themselves a goal down before they had even settled into the game, but they didn’t panic and worked their way back into it.
Layla, who started off in goal made a number of saves and a defensive line of Niamh, Elsie and Sofia steadied the ship while also taking in turns to move forward a support their team mates at the opposite end. Ellie and Averie worked tirelessly in midfield and Saoirse was unlucky not to get on the score sheet after having a few good efforts up front.
All the hard work was rewarded just before the end of the first quarter when Elsie found the bottom corner of the Manulla goal after moving forward to support her attacking players.
The second quarter saw a reshuffle with Saoirse going in goal, where she ended up making a string of excellent saves through out the rest of the game. Sadie came on in attack and posed a threat and worked hard for the team, while Ella came in to the defensive and was very impressive keeping the Manulla chances to a minimum.
The away team were really finding their feet, with every player giving their all and sticking to the game plan, their hard work was rewarded when Ellie put them ahead with a well taken finish after a bit of a scramble in the box.
That was to be the last of the scoring but there were plenty of chances for both sides.
A great team performance by all 9 girls that played throughout the game against a good Manulla team. Thanks to Manulla for hosting and all the parents for their support. Claremorris team: Layla, Niamh, Elsie, Sofia, Ellie, Averie, Saoirse, Sadie and Ella.

Claremorris U10A Team took on Manulla A team this am. It was played as 3 x 12 minutes a side . In the 1st 12 minutes, the girls just couldn't find the net and didn't seem settled into the game. Manulla managed to get the ball down the pitch and, with a well target shot, hit the back of the net. But that wasn't a deterant to the girls as they came back out again, and with Kelly, Isla and Erienne not allowing any gaps to open and impeccable passing by Ellie and Aoibhinn,Roise found the net to make it even. But that was not the end when Ellie dribbled around and found the net for another goal. Alicia and Dayna had their turn in defence and did a fine job. Then Ruth had some chances up front but the ball just wouldn't go in. In the last 12 minutes with a change of goalies, Erienne took up the role. Emma headed to midfield. Roise popped another goal with the assistance of Emma and Kelly. Just when we thought it was all over, from a corner, Roise curled it into the box and it deflected of a Manulla player for an Own Goal. Fair play to Emma and Erienne who made some fantastic saves. Well done to all the girls who are playing fabulous football and thanks to the parents for your support.
