Jamie "Master Toddy" Todd has been putting in the hours ahead of his WRSA Irish K1 Title Fight in Derry in 6 weeks at The Purge Fight Night ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ†
Jamie's one of the most consistent, hardworking lads we have in the club, and has come a long way for a man who had his first ever demo in Carlow just over 12 months ago๐Ÿซก
He's coming off a strong performance this past weekend in Cork and will be looking to make a statement in Derry in July 4th ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Mixed results for some of our fighters at the Siam Warriors Superfights show in Cork yesterday.

Jamie Todd got us off to a good start with a very technical performance against a very tough opponent, Eoin McGlynn from Cork Thai. He stayed nice and composed and put everything together well, winning the fight by majority decision. A big win, and a good test before his WRSA K1 title fight in Derry in July ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Unfortunately things didn't go to plan for Steven Venter, who faced the always tough as nails Aaron Oโ€™Reilly from Cork Thai. Aaron started fast and aggressive, and caught Steven early in Rd1 which forced an 8 count. Steven rallied back in the second, but slowed a good bit in the final round, ultimately losing by UD.
Hats off to Aaron, it was good to share to ring with him.๐Ÿ™

Our adopted Spanish fighter Saul LaCosta had a great night, winning the SWS Supercup 4-man tournament . He was drawn against Sunan fighter Conan Lally in the semi-final, and won this by UD after three fast paced rounds.
He faced a very strong Leo Martinez in the final, but showed outstanding composure, switching between technical kicking style to Muay Khao style, scoring well with knees and damaging elbows. A well deserved win for a great fighter. We look forward to having him back again.๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ†

We have two fighters on the Siam Warriors Superfights Collateral show tomorrow in Cork๐Ÿ”ฅ
Both lads are in against two very tough, experienced fighters from Cork Thai.
Jamie Todd faces Eoin McGlynn in a 60kg amateur Muay Thai fight, and Steven Venter is matched up against Aaron Oโ€™Reilly in an 85kg C-Class Pro rules bout๐ŸฅŠ๐ŸฅŠ๐Ÿซก
We also welcome Saul LaCosta from MTZ Zaragoza, who will be fighting in the 4-man SWS Supercup. Saul is a training partner to out very own Daire Brady, who's currently working in Spain and training with Muay Thai Zaragoza ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ
This is going to be a great event, with some outstanding fights ๐Ÿ‘

Another excellent performance from Wolfhound Muay Thaiโ€™s Annabel Venter last night at the Ring of Fire Kickboxing show in Waterford, as she secured a dominant Round 2 referee stoppage victory in her K1 bout against Amelia Butler.
Annabel showed great composure, sharp technique and relentless pressure from the opening bell, with the referee stepping in during the second round after a strong display ๐ŸฅŠ๐ŸฅŠ
Hats off to Amelia, so battled hard until the stoppage and we wish her all the best for future competitions ๐Ÿ™

This result adds to what has already been a hugely successful run for Annabel over the past year. She previously claimed gold at both the WKO Irish Nationals and the ISKA Irish Open, continuing to establish herself as one of the most promising young fighters on the circuit.
A brilliant performance and another big step forward. Back to work this week. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸฅŠ

Finally got the Venters together with their Wolfhound teammates for a well-deserved photo with their ISKA Irish Open belts ๐Ÿ†
Father and daughter both taking gold in the Thaiboxing categories this yearโ€”something theyโ€™ve done before, having both topped the podium at last yearโ€™s WKO Low-Kick Nationals in Limerick.
