GAA is back 🙌🎉

But if your child isn’t involved in mainstream sports—or hasn’t quite found their thing yet—there is another option.

RINKA is running right here in the community on Saturday at 10:00 & 10:55; and they’re offering a FREE trial class this month!!

RINKA classes focus on:
• Strength, movement and coordination
• Confidence and mindset
• Fun sessions where every child feels part of the team

Already playing sport? RINKA is the perfect complement to help support performance, movement and injury prevention.

All involved with the CBD offer healtfelt condolenses to George of Health Quarters, on the recent passing of his mother Patricia Fitzgerald.

Patricia passed away peacefully on 22 March 2026 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness bravely borne.

May her gentle soul rest in peace. 🙏

We’re delighted to welcome RINKA Ireland - Kids Fun Fitness Easter Camp to our CBD recreational centre this Easter!🐣✨

Camp’s consist of high energy, confidence building activities full of games, teamwork and movement for children aged 4+.

Little Puckers is a Gaelic Games themed playgroup for 1.5-5 year olds.

Classes focus on Fun, developing fundamental movement skills and a basic introduction to Gaelic Games skills.

They are back in CBD Recreational Centre, Charlestown on Saturday 10th January, with a weekly class starting the following week.

Wonderful news for our centre! 🥳

Today I am announcing increased funding for 400 organisations nationwide that are currently supported under the Community Services Programme (CSP).

The revised funding rates to be applied from 1st of January 2026 will see:

➡️an increase of €1,260 in the annual contribution per post to organisations categorised as having a high funding need; and
➡️an increase of €1,160 in the annual contribution per post for CSP organisations categorised as having a medium funding need; and,
➡️an increase of €400 per annum to all 351 CSP-supported manager positions across all funding categories.

A further nine organisations, including Charlestown Bellaghy & Districts Recreational Centre CLG, are now set to join the CSP programme commencing early 2026.

In addition, eleven organisations with an original contract end date of 31st of December 2025 have had their contracts extended for a further two years.

My Department’s Community Services Programme plays a vital role in ensuring essential services reach communities nationwide. It addresses local needs and delivers effective, targeted, responses to support people where it matters most. I am very pleased to announce that we are now in a position to strengthen this support with additional funding for 2026.

Youth Night 2025 – Friday 28th November

Charlestown Foróige are excited to be celebrating Youth Night 2025 this Friday 28th November from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the CBD Complex, (F12 R832).

This free, public event, funded by MSLETB, is fully organised and run by the young members of Charlestown Foróige.

The evening includes a Bake-Off, games for all ages, and an entertaining quiz. A Warm Coats Collection will also take place, and attendees are invited to bring clean, good-condition coats or jackets for local people in need this winter.

Families, neighbours, and the wider community are all welcome to attend!
