🚴‍♂️ DB Cycling Club - Weekly Club News 🚴‍♀️
Another active week for DB members, with plenty of cycling, running and open-water swimming 👇

🚴 Sunday Club Spin
We had a group out for our Sunday morning club spin, clocking up some good distances and, as always, enjoying the company along the way! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

🏃‍♀️ Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon
Well done to Kathleen Connors, who completed the Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon on Saturday. Another great achievement and more miles in the legs - congratulations Kathleen! 👏🏅

🏊‍♀️ Cavan Swim Series - Annagh Lake
Last Wednesday evening saw the second of three Cavan Swim Series events, this time taking place at Annagh Lake.
A fantastic 33 swimmers took on the 750m swim, with a great mix of abilities - some completing the distance for the very first time, while others flew around the course in under seven minutes! 👏🏊‍♂️ There was something to celebrate for everyone.
And, of course, there were plenty of chats and catching up afterwards ☕😊
The third and final swim in the series takes place at Ramor Lake this Wednesday. Best of luck to everyone taking part and well done to all involved in organising such an enjoyable series! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

🏆 Emyvale GP - Victory for Tony!
Huge congratulations to Tony Pryce, who continued his fantastic season with 1st place in the Masters Race at the Emyvale GP on Sunday! 🥇🚴‍♂️
Another brilliant result - well done Tony! 👏💪

🚴 Saturday and Sunday Club Spins
We had groups out for our Saturday and Sunday club spins, with members getting the miles in and enjoying another morning on the road together 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

🏊‍♀️ Cavan Swim Series - Week 1
The Cavan Swim Series kicked off with the first of three weeks at Bailieborough Lough, organised by our own club member Una McGlone 👏
DB was well represented both in and out of the water! Orla Galligan, Colm Grogan and Bridget Smith took to the lake for the swim, while Stephen Shanley was one of the safety crew out on the water in a kayak 🛶🏊‍♀️
A very well-organised and enjoyable event, topped off with the all-important tea, treats and plenty of chats afterwards! ☕🍰😋
Well done to Una and everyone involved in organising the event, and to all our DB members who took part or helped out 👏

Another busy week for the DB crew, with sportives, running success and plenty of club miles 👇

🚴 Killylough Cycling Club Annual Charity Tour
There was a great turnout of DB members for the Killylough Cycling Club Annual Charity Tour on Sunday.
A really well-organised and enjoyable event, with great routes and plenty of familiar faces along the way. Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to Killylough CC for the hospitality 👏🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

🏃‍♀️ Castlepollard 5K
Another fantastic result for Kathleen Connors, who took part in the Castlepollard 5K Road Race on Wednesday evening and finished 1st in her age category! 🥇👏
Brilliant running Kathleen - well done!

🚴‍♀️ Sarah Fagan Lap of Louth
Well done to Amanda Diver and Louise Smith, who completed the Sarah Fagan Lap of Louth.
A great event, very well marshalled and a thoroughly enjoyable day on the bike. Fair play ladies! 👏🚴‍♀️

☀️ Wednesday Evening Club Spin
We also had a good group out for our Wednesday evening club spin, keeping up those midweek miles and making the most of the summer evenings 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Another busy week for the DB crew, with adventure racing, gravel cycling and plenty of club miles 👇

🚴 Club Spins
We had groups out for both our Wednesday evening and Sunday morning club spins, keeping the summer miles ticking over and enjoying plenty of good company along the way 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️🛶 Cavan Kayakarun Adventure Race
DB Cycling Club was well represented at the Cavan Kayakarun Adventure Race on Saturday, with Kieran McGarvey, James Dourneen, Colm Grogan, Mervyn Kinkade, Jamie McMahon, Kathleen Connors and Keith O’Connor all taking part.
It was James Dourneen’s first adventure race, and he put in a great performance, finishing strong 💪 A special congratulations also to Kathleen Connors, who claimed an age category win 🏆👏
Great racing from all the DB crew - well done to everyone who took part!

🚵‍♀️ Borderlands Cycle
On Saturday, Orla Galligan Ward and Alma McMillan took on the Borderlands Cycle on their gravel bikes.
Starting and finishing in Belcoo, it was a fantastic event with some tough hill climbs and plenty of rough terrain to keep things interesting! 💪🚵‍♀️⛰️
Well done ladies on completing a challenging but very enjoyable day on the bikes 👏

Another busy week for the DB crew, with plenty of cycling, racing and multisport action both at home and further afield 👇

☀️ Wednesday Evening Club Spin
We had a lovely sunny evening for our Wednesday club spin last week, with the groups out making the most of the long summer evening and getting those midweek miles in 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️☀️

🚴 3 Province Challenge
There was a great turnout of DB members for the Breffni 3 Province Challenge in Arvagh last Saturday, with a choice of distances to suit all. Well done to everyone who took part and represented the club on what was a great day on the bike 👏🚴‍♀️

🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃 Lough Ramor Triathlon & Duathlon
On Sunday morning, members of our multisport crew were in action at the Lough Ramor Triathlon & Duathlon, hosted by Virginia Cycling & Triathlon Club.
🥈 Jamie McMahon put in a brilliant performance to finish 2nd in the Duathlon
🥇 Kathleen Connors had another fantastic result, finishing 1st in her age category
👏 James Dourneen also put in a very strong performance on the day
Massive well done to all three! 💪

🚴 Sunday Club Spin
We also had a good group out for our regular Sunday morning club spin, enjoying another good spin and plenty of miles together 🚴‍♂️👌

🚴‍♂️ Midweek Miles ☕️
There were also groups of members out for various midweek spins, making the most of the good weather and keeping the legs turning ☀️🚴‍♀️

🇸🇮 DB on Tour - Slovenia
John Grogan has been flying the DB flag a little further from home, cycling through the spectacular Triglav National Park in Slovenia 🇸🇮🚴‍♂️⛰️
Apparently there are black bears roaming the park… thankfully John managed to get the cycling and sightseeing done without meeting any! 🐻😅

Another great week of racing, running and club spins for the DB crew 👇

🏁 Tuam GP
Congratulations to Tony Pryce, who competed in the Tuam GP - a 102km National Grade C2 race - last weekend.
It was Tony's first race since his recent upgrade from C3 to C2, and he put in a fantastic performance to finish 6th place against a very competitive field. A brilliant start to life in the C2 ranks - well done Tony! 👏💪

🏃 Blaney Rockets 10 Mile Road Race
Well done to Kathleen Connors, who completed the Blaney Rockets 10 Mile Road Race on Sunday morning. Another great performance and plenty of miles in the legs 👏🏅

🚴 Club Spins
