We started small and short (“God, we’ll never cycle two miles” – on the flat!!) and gradually both our numbers and distances grew. We meet regularly on Sunday mornings at Bike N Beara bike shop and in the past few years have taken part in the An Post Cycle Series in Clare, Cork and Waterford. We have also taken part in a large number of charity cycle events in West Cork and beyond. Our regular rou

tes are around the hills of Beara, mainly up the Healy Pass and into Ardgroom Post Office for the excellent coffee! A few years ago we commenced some off road cycling for a bit of variety and now have a very active mountain bike group with some brilliant rough terrain conquered including on our two local islands (Dursey and Bere) and we’ve enjoyed some trips to the excellent track in Ballyhoura. We formally registered as a cycling club with Cycling Ireland in 2011 and are now looking forward to a very active year on all fronts
