All of us at Lios Lara would like to express our sincere condolences to Seán and Cáit Donegan, Caoimhe, Sean Óg, Aoibhinn and David on the passing of Michael.

Michael learned to ride with us when he was younger, and we have many fond memories of his time with us. Aoibhinn continues to be a regular rider here, and our thoughts are especially with her and all the family at this difficult time.

May Michael rest in peace.

We've got camps to suit everyone, open to all - regulars, first timers, holiday makers, little ones and even the super advanced 😀

* senior/intermediate- riders who can walk trot and canter independently and jump. Must be able to tack up alone, carry out yard duties alone and care for their horse independently. Riders must have a good few years of saddle time under their belt 🐎

* advanced junior - riders must be able to walk and trot independently, learning to canter, next step canter or already cantering and just not riding as long as the seniors 🐎

* beginner- learning to ride, getting regular lessons and just learning off the lead, nervous and ASD riders welcome, aged 4 years and up 🐎

* tiny tots - preschoolers, very very nervous riders, ASD 🐎

🌟 Spaces are limited and they fill up fast, so get booking🌟

Thank you to our wonderful clients who have booked treks with us over the past few months, your support is greater appreciated 🌟

Within the next few weeks we will be entering peak season for trekking, please remember:
* book in advance
* you may be ask to pay in full or pay a deposit depending on how close to a booking you book.
* any cancellations on a booking without 24 hours notice- full payment must still be made
* bookings are non transferable
* our weight limit is 14 stone and we can only carry 1 rider at this weight - please don't be offended if we cannot take your weight, it's not personal issue - it welfare of our horses - they work hard!
* beginner riders are only suitable for 1 hour treks - trust us this is enough if you are inexperienced.
* experienced riders can avail of 1 hour, 1.5hr, half day and full day treks
* if you are following Google maps - make sure you come in CASTLETOWNBERE to get to the stables - if you don't come in CASTLETOWNBERE you are going over the mountains and you will get stuck!!!!
* max 5 in a group and again this will depend on riders weights, heights and experience. Our horses and ponies are not robots and some are suitable for only experienced riders. We take pride in looking after our clients, ensuring safety is at the top of our priority, having fun in a safe environment is key.

🐎🐎 Beginner/lead rein block lessons 🐎🐎

* starting tuesday 26th may, 2nd, 9th and 16th June

* two times to choose from - 3.30 to 4pm €60 pp for the block of 4 or 5.30 to 6pm

* suitable for all ages, from 3 years plus

* suitable for children with ASD, anxiety, nervous riders, first timers, anyone looking to try a new activity

* great social interaction in a calm and safe environment surrounded by outdoors and animals

🐎 Castletownbere Cheval - 🐎

* sunday 10th may
* meeting at pier from 11.30am - moving off at 12.30pm
* tickets on sale throughout the event - some fab prizes
* raffle and refreshments after in the Wheelhouse bar
* all proceeds going towards Feile, a young girl who was in a tragic farm accident last July, where she lost both her limbs

First ride out as a 4 year old!

Happy birthday to our little lad Iarla, 4 today and all he wanted was a pair of long riding boots with zips like the big girls on the yard!!!

Beginners at Easter Camp!

Well done to all our beginner riders who joined us over Easter!

Great to see familiar faces and new ones too! We do so much pony work, grooming, tacking up, riding and trekking, colouring, scavenger hunts and mucking out! We had so much fun, we hope you guys did too!

How impressive do our trophy pieces look ✨️

Thanks to Tomas from Tomas Laser for designing and crafting these bespoke prizes for some of our riders at camp!

Our rosettes come from Gaelle Rosettes, who have been supplying us for years and always give us a great deal and make loads of children happy at camp when they get lovely rosettes! But for some of these riders who got these trophies, they get alot rosettes so be awarded one of these is a big reward so well done 👏
