Castlebar Tennis Club Castlebar Tennis Club is one of the major Tennis Clubs in Connacht, Ireland Castlebar tennis club is a vibrant tennis club, located in Co. Mayo, Ireland.

The club, one of the largest tennis clubs in Connaught was founded in 1938 and moved to its new state of the art facilities in September 2009 on the banks of Lough Lannagh, approximately 1 km from the centre. The emphasis in the club is on enjoying good tennis while at the same time, creating a friendly, inclusive atmosphere for members and non members. The club has a deserved reputation as a fun

family oriented club, with the emphasis on participation and enjoyment as well as competition and challenge. At Castlebar Tennis Club, we cater for all standards of tennis player. The all-weather playing surfaces, excellent changing facilities and a brand new purpose built club house make it an ideal club for all ages. The clubhouse and courts are accessible for wheelchair users. There is ample car parking. For the beginner, there is the opportunity to avail of coaching with others who are just starting out, while for the more seasoned or competitive player, there is league tennis, club and inter club competitions. Regardless of your standard or ambition, there is a place for you in Castlebar Tennis Club. Club Facilities Include:
- Six all weather outdoor courts. The courts are Sand filled Synthetic Turf Tennis Courts laid on top of an Open Texture Macadam base. The surface is commonly referred to as a Probounce Tennis Surface
- Flood lighting available for evening games. Tokens for Lighting cost €2.50 per ½ hour per court
- Changing rooms with toilets and hot water showers
- Disabled court access and toilets
- Viewing area
- Fully licensed cosy Bar to enjoy refreshments. Opening hours 6.30 pm until closing time from Monday to Saturday.
- Spacious function room suitable for parties & other sport activates with Two Table Tennis Tables
- Generous parking facilities.

Always wanted to try tennis? Now’s your chance! Join our 12-week “Try Tennis” programme, designed to help complete beginners learn the basics, meet other players, and start playing real matches.

Weeks 1–4 – Learn the Basics
Get started with coach-supported sessions alongside club members who will help you learn key skills.
Cost: €25

Weeks 5–8 – Supervised Match Play
Start putting your skills into action with guided match play sessions with club members.

Weeks 9–12 – Friendly League
Take part in a fun and relaxed league organised just for the group — a great way to continue improving while enjoying friendly competition.

Cost for Weeks 5–12: €50 which includes a Starter Membership, giving you:
• Full access to club courts
• Use of the online court booking system
• The ability to arrange games with other players
