*Competition: All doubles for Connacht TI Affiliated clubs.
*Doubles WTN rating will be used with 6 different bands available.

Munster v Connacht Showdown 2026 🎾🇮🇪

What a weekend in ! Winners from the Connacht & Munster Winter/Spring Leagues faced off across multiple finals—lots of hard-fought matches, and even a few decided by championship tie-breaks / supersets.

Saturday Highlights (5 finals)

XD4 & WD4: Galway & Portumna edged Rosanna & Borrisokane with superset wins.

MD5: Bandon overcame Ballinasloe in straight set wins.

XD2: St. Michaels defeated Sligo in 4 straight set wins.

WD3: Boyle TC came out on top over Ballypatrick (3–1) in very close matches.

Sunday Highlights (3 finals completed)

MD4: Ballinlough beat Galway 3–1 with 3 championship Tie break wins.
WD6: Ennis were too strong for Maree Ladies
XD3: Ballinlough proved too strong for Galway again, with tie-break moments proving crucial.

Weather update: 3 more finals were still to be completed when horrendous conditions brought play to a stop.

A fantastic weekend at the Masters Interpros in Lansdowne! 🎾✨

For the 30–45 age groups, there was a brilliant atmosphere, some top-quality tennis, and plenty of tight, close matches. It was played in great spirit & showed what tennis is all about.

Huge thanks to Tennis Leinster , Tina, and Lansdowne LTC for hosting so brilliantly.

And to the non-playing captains—Paul, Karen, Willie and Jennifer—plus our own Captain Orla and Vice Gerry S for their support, encouragement, and all their hard work before & throughout the competition.

Well done to Leinster too—winning 7 out of 8 age groups and taking the title as overall winners! 🏆

Galway LTC Junior 200 started with the U10 age groups.

Some great tennis on show —though it was a true Wild West in terms of the weather.

The green and orange courts produced some excellent tennis throughout. It was also an all-girls Galway final, with Sarah Leonard taking the spoils over her teammate Emma Wu.

It was a particularly strong day for the Leonard family, with Sarah Leonard’s success backed up by Gavin Leonard, who defeated another Galway teammate, Harry Hartmann, in the orange ball final.

Monday and Tuesday it was the turn of the older events which delivered some seriously high-quality tennis across every age group. 👏🎾

Home success was front and centre for Galway Lawn Tennis Club Niamh Ni Ghallchoir, who edged past Bettystown’s Grace O’Flaherty to take the Girls U12 title. In the Boys U14 another Connacht representative Westport Tennis Club Eoin Ó’Raghallaigh defeated Leinster's Nikolai Corbett where a very close first set tie break being decisive.

Other standout wins:

Boys U12:Brookfield’s Austin Casey overcame Rathgar’s Tom Brennan in a tight, competitive match
Girls U14:Clontarf’s Emma Weber beat Ruby Brennan.
Boys U14 Doubles:Dillon Fegan & Ben Galligan cruised to victory over Austin Casey & Matthew O’flaherty.
Boys U16:Donnybrook’s Parson Yu defeated Kilkenny’s Fionn Hayes.
Girls U16: Newtownparks Lucie Doolin clinched a hard-hitting win against Ennis player Lena Paglan.
