The Wren Circle

The Wren Circle The Wren Circle embracing nature. The Wren Circle connects in a new way in relating to our planet. Welcome to The Wren Circle Page. This is the transition.

Welcome to all my friends and to new friends. There will be further transitions as we all take this first step together towards an inclusive and interdependent relationship beginning with ourselves and in practising this we eventually have these healthy relationships with each other. Discovering the nature within through having a personal relationship with all of nature around us. Blessings and welcome to the Circle.

Brighid (also spelled Brigid, Brigit, or Bríg) embodies several archetypal qualities that have made her endure across Celtic mythology, Christian hagiography, and modern spiritual practice.

IMBOLG
On the Celtic wheel, we are truly blessed to have the cross-quarter festivals as they are the indicators of the seasons of Nature and the seasons of our lives.
In Ireland we are so lucky to have a beautiful Alignment to Imbolg at the Mound of Hostages at Tara in County Meath. The mound has two alignments both to Samhain and Imbolg. At Samhain (early November) and Imbolc (early February) the sunrise illuminates the passage and chamber of Cairn L, lighting up the limestone standing stone in the cairn at Loughcrew Co, Westmeath.
At Samhain when the Sun was on its journey to Winter Solstice, it rose on Samhain morning to cast a beam of Light into the passageway indicating the Energy of The Ceallaigh at both sites.
The great celebration of Winter Solstice six weeks later related to us the rebirth and return of the Sun as we travel with the journey of the sun, our ancestors left us this beautiful calendar of our seasons and the seasons of our lives so beautifully and anciently validated by these incredible alignments.
As we approach Imbolg which this year falls at the exact alignment with the Passageway at the Mound of Hostages and Cairn L at Loughcrew on the 3rd of February 2025.
The construction of the Mound and Cairn and these alignments indicated to our ancestors both Samhain and Imbolg is beyond magical. Their constructions were so accurate in their alignments to the journey of the Sun.
And as the Ceallaigh protected us in the dark winter days and told us about the beauty of death at Samhain, that death gives back to our nature and she asked us to reflect about our previous wheel, it was an ending but also a beginning and the seed that was planted at Winter Solstice on the rebirth of the Sun, she told us about the giving back to our nature was now seeded for the New Spiral which manifests at Imbolg as she starts to birth as the Goddess Bridgit transforming into the beautiful Goddess of Spring. A new journey is born on the spiral. This beautiful dreaming visionary energy of the Ceallaigh is the preparation for our own rebirth on the journey of the spiral.
The Wheel or spiral is both a calendar of Nature’s time and our own and a calendar of Consciousness.
What is the Energy of Bridgit? What is she telling us?

• Fire, light, candles, the sun, sunbeams
• The hearth, thresholds and doorways
• The forge, smithing
• Midwifery
• Poetry.
• Water, springs and wells
• Cauldrons, chalices
• Brigid’s Cross
• Swans, cows, sheep, farm animals, fish, the snake, 2 entwined serpents, bees, owls, all hibernating animals
• Snowdrops, crocus, daffodil, trillium, dandelion, meadow flowers, violet, heliotrope

• Oak tree and acorn, willow trees - bark and branches, apple tree, rowan tree, heather, broom, wisteria, shamrock, reeds, straw, oats, corn, pumpkin seeds
• Large sandstone rock formations and henges, amethyst, rock crystal, gold, silver, copper, iron, steel, jasper, carnelian, azurite, garnet, peridot, serpentine, bloodstone, agate
• Milk, butter, cheese and all dairy products
The most beautiful aspect of Bridget are the Wells, the Source of all that is. The Sacredness of the springs and wells and the Water. As the Salmon always returns to spawn, we too from Samhain to Imbolg returned to the source of our ancient springs to rebirth. On Imbolg Bridgit tells us we are now setting a new course just like the river reborn out the sacred spring.

Bridgit, Goddess of the Wells, Fire, Hearth, Crafts, Smyths, Milk, Mid-wives, Healers,
Goddess of Spring.
Waking the Land from the Protection of The Ceallaigh.
Bless all who ask for your Love and Healing.
As the Land stirs and awakens and as we start out on this new wheel
Bridgit, Guide us on the New Journey on the new and never-ending spiral.

Imbolg Blessings to all.

As the Winter Solstice grows near. The Energy of Samhain and the Cailleach is still being felt on the Landscape and within ourselves. The Letting Go, The death, The Honouring and all in this beautiful well of gratefulness on the Spiral to which we all belong.

The Beauty of The Cailleach.

Whenever we see art or hear about the Cailleach or her name is even mentioned, there is a feeling of fear, the word darkness is triggered. She is known as the Hag, the Witch. She is associated with death. She is Winter. She is old. She is the aging example of Life. She, The Cailleach is an Ending.
In this post, I wish to be her Advocate, her champion, her EVERYTHING.
There is a beauty surrounding the Cailleach.
I had the honour and privilege to work with the elderly for many, many years and it presented a beautiful opportunity for me to arrive at a beautiful understanding of them. Their wisdom, their sense of fun, their deep knowing, a life well lived.
They slow down and, in this slowing, they taught me the beauty of this energy.
It was always peaceful working with the elderly, and it was not anything they said although even their delivery of speech slows down, it is their energy, it slows down and, in this space, I had no other choice but to slow down too if I was to adapt to them. I had no other choice but to embrace this beautiful slowing down so that I could work with them.
I began to deeply appreciate this peaceful, slow way of working and eventually being.
Without explaining or saying a word, they taught me the beauty of the coming end.
I have also had the honour and privilege of being with them at their ending.
There is a deep letting, a profound peace and silence around this beautiful ending.
All the words in the time of knowing them fades away and this deep loving silence prevails around them. What remains is a silent love, of deep sadness for the nearing loss, but a deep sense of profound gratitude for having been given permission to know them, to have known a life well lived and to be present in such a beautiful way when the final letting go occurs. The last breath.
The last breath is the ending, but we must also reflect on the life well lived. I have always reflected on the small time I knew them, grateful for what they taught me, their life well lived was deep wisdom and it was delivered in a slow and peaceful way.
And so I return to The Cailleach and the wheel of the Year.
At Samhain, we are being shown that the Cailleach returns. She in her wisdom, having been doing this since time began, knows this deep, slow, profound and the inevitable ending.
She, the Queen of the Winter and her nature shows us that the Light half of our year has ended. She washes her cloak in the beautiful lakes so that it is sparkling white. She walks the land, in the energy of the letting go and everywhere she appears, Nature does her bidding.
All the growth of the year, the fertility, the beauty of the Light ends.
The Cailleach knows in her wisdom, this growth, this beauty must die, and in deep grace return all of this in a knowing that the growth having been achieved, the experience having been reflected upon, now goes back to the source and this beautiful wisdom is saved and cherished for the rebirth at Winter Solstice. She is the Queen of the Winter and The Keeper of the Wisdom.
On the Wheel of the Year, The Cailleach, her energy in being deeply understood assists us to know the Joy of Winter Solstice. She has taught us the profound beauty of the letting go, the reflection of a life well lived, the ending and the coming beginning. The wisdom that life is eternal on the Spiral and the wisdom that each life leaves in grace, is left and saved for all our future spirals.

The Cailleach is the ultimate wisdom of the Spiral. She is the Ending and the Beginning.
