It is with deep regret that I have to announce the closure of the green baize cue sports. Firstly I would like to thank all those that frequently used the fantastic amenity and those who sporadically used it also. Unfortunately you can't catch people by the hand and bring them in so tomorrow we'd will be the final day and snooker will be free all day from 5 o clock to 10-30. If you want to play book an hr as the regular wed night lads will be granted their usual slot. I would like to thank a few people who have helped me out giving me a bit of time off over the past 16 months so thanks to Frankie , Michael, my sister Lynsey my son Dillon and parents john and Kay and also to my daughter katelyn for handing out change to customers while I got some practise in. My biggest thanks go to sandy for all her support in the background which people don't see. I do feel for the lads that loved the place as they will miss it and I to will miss them as I made many a new friend along our journey and as it proved the facility is badly needed in the town for young and old. Lastly for the record I did try other avenues to keep it goin like e mailing ministers about buying the building and turning it into a Cyms for the town as figures show this would work but I never got a response so that's it I hope to find somewhere to put one table in so I can keep practising my self thanks again Stephen.

Well done to Greg casey Brendan o Donaghue and John o Sullivan on their victories in the men's European championships in Prague today and also to Keith sheldreck in the masters. Hard luck to the two ladies today still plenty of snooker left to play. Good luck to Alen matic and The Green Baize player Tom o Driscoll in their first match on Thursday keep it goin lads.
