Great fun had by 6th year students and staff this morning.

Rumour has it the staff are celebrating winning the Tug O War

We wish the 6th years all the best with their exams and in the future.

You will be missed.

We all accept that an abrupt end to the school year is far from ideal...Having said that, if you could bottle today's Sixth Year get-together, you'd want it every day of the week. Thanks to the staff who assisted the PE Dept in organising the event, and a HUGE thank you to the Sixth Years for making it a hilarious day out, a unique experience, and maybe a day to put in the diary??....Who knows?....All the best, folks..You guys are great!!

A contender for FIFA game of the year was played on the school football pitch today as the CCS staff took on their Transition year students.

In a rip roaring start game, referee Mr Dermot Doherty (who had an excellent game) had to clamp down on a few hard challenges. Football took over then, and both teams were on top at different stages. It was great to see such a big crowd up watching who we assume were up to support their teachers.

Mr Ronan Doherty (a new addition to the ccs teaching staff) put the teachers 1-0 up with an unstoppable left foot strike past, Ireland under 16 international Oisin Cooney. In a game of few chances, defences were on top, but some teachers looked very happy to see the half time whistle.

The 2nd half started at a fast pace (it seemed fast anyways) and Mr David McLaughlin took the teachers 2nd goal brilliantly, beating his man and putting the ball in the bottom corner.

The students upped their game and put the teachers under sustained pressure, but the defence were well marshalled by Mr Daniel McDaid (another new addition to the staff) and held out. The students had one final chance when an Oisin Cooney strike was cleared off the line by Ms Danielle Doherty to seal the 2-0 victory.

Well done to TY coordinator Ms Elaine Farren and everyone (students and staff) who helped make the day such a success and the teachers take the bragging rights for this year.
