Congratulations to Charlie McHugh who recently received the Nationalist Golf Award at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel.

A huge congratulations to Charlie McHugh, who has been selected as the recipient of the Carlow Nationalist Golf Award for 2025. This award recognises Charlie’s outstanding talent and remarkable list of golfing accomplishments at such a young age.

Over the past two summers, Charlie has proudly represented Leinster in the Interprovincial Championships at both Under-14 and Under-16 level.

At just 15 years of age, Charlie became the youngest-ever winner of the Carlow Boys Scratch Cup, delivering an exceptional round of one under par (69) to secure the prestigious title.

In addition, Charlie reached a scratch handicap this year—another milestone that reflects his dedication, skill, and consistency on the golf course.

Carlow Golf Club is extremely proud of Charlie and extends its warmest congratulations on this outstanding achievement. His commitment and success continue to inspire everyone at the club.

A fantastic achievement by our junior member Conn, representing Tyndall College, who had an amazing score of 41 points in the Golf Ireland schools event at Royal Curragh golf club.

A huge thank you to our Junior Captains, Grace and David, for sponsoring this year’s Junior Captain’s Day at Carlow Golf Club. It was fantastic to see so many of our Junior members out on the main course enjoying their golf.

Everyone gathered in the clubhouse afterwards for some lovely food, followed by a great prize giving ceremony.

Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and sincere thanks once again to Grace and David for their wonderful work with the Junior Branch throughout 2025 ⛳️⛳️

What a fantastic way to wrap up our Adult–Junior 9-Hole competitions with a brilliant prize-giving finale! Despite the weather not being on our side, it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of our juniors, parents, friends, and grandparents. We had a full timesheet on the day, and everyone enjoyed a lovely meal after golf.

It was a wonderful evening in Carlow Golf Club, with an amazing selection of prizes for our winners and some lovely treats for all of our juniors.

The Adult–Junior series is always a highlight for the Junior Branch, and we’re already looking forward to many more great events in 2026.
