π Student Recognition Awards 2026 π
Huge congratulations to our Carmel Lynch Award 2026 winner, RΓ³nΓ‘n Brennan ππ
Named in honour of our former Director of Sport, Carmel Lynchβwho dedicated 32 years to developing sport, student life, and the vibrant clubs & societies culture we know todayβthis prestigious award recognises a student who embodies her spirit of commitment, leadership, and generosity.
This yearβs recipient, Science Society President RΓ³nΓ‘n Brennan, truly exemplifies these values. A final-year Applied Science student, RΓ³nΓ‘n has shown outstanding leadership, building strong connections across campus and creating meaningful opportunities for student engagement.
From pioneering a multi-society event that brought students together (and ensured international students felt part of festive celebrations), to organising industry guest speakers that support career developmentβhis impact has been felt far and wide.
A dedicated Peer Mentor for the past three years, RΓ³nΓ‘n has consistently supported fellow students with warmth and enthusiasm, especially during first-year orientation. Heβs always ready to help, whether on campus or in the wider communityβvolunteering at events like the Annual Easter Party for Senior Citizens and teaching Irish dancing locally.
RΓ³nΓ‘n was also awarded a Gold SETU Presidentβs Volunteer Award in 2025 and continues to give back through initiatives like his charity quiz night supporting the Irish Kidney Association π
We are incredibly proud to recognise RΓ³nΓ‘n Brennan as the Carmel Lynch Award recipient for 2026βa truly deserving winner π
