Big weekend for the senior teams this weekend with Aileach starting their league cup campaign with a trip to our neighbours, QPS. The reserves look to improve from last weeks result with a game under the lights at Lakeside on Friday night and the youths start their campaign with a home game against Carn Youths on Sunday at 11am. Both the reserve and the youths games will be available to view on Staydia Sports.

Last One Standing Update (Week 1)
Thank you to everyone who entered.
There is still a game to go this weekend with Fulham hosting Chelsea tonight. 12 players are hoping Chelsea get the win.
96 players are safely through thanks to wins for Arsenal, Brighton, Everton, Man City and a great call from Michael Carey, Ipswich.
We had 39 casulaties on week 1 with Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, Man Utd, Spurs and Sunderland all failing to win.

Well done to the Aileach U12 Colts team who won the Shield in an exciting final on Saturday beating Cockhill Braves 3 - 0 in the process. Peadar Harrigan, Tiernan Doherty and Penn Flood got the goals but they were well aided by the rest of the team with Denis Doherty outstanding in goals and the defence hardly missed a ball with Josh Doherty, Eoghan Rainey & Knox Flood impressive throughout. Noah Sweeney and Jimmy Gill left nothing in the tank in midfield. They were massively assisted by the supporting cast when Luke McCay, Odhran Thompson, Michael Green, Keegan Whoriskey & Sean Og McDaid all took to the field. We also had a few players missing due to holidays etc (Those parents will be in the bad books with their kids for a while!!) A big congratulations and thank you to the coaches, Mark Sweeney & Seamus Gill for everything throughout the year.

** WORLD CUP COMPETITION **
Sorry for the delay folks, with Sports Day and a mad week with the Foyle Cup I'm only getting around to the winner in the World Cup Competition.
In first place, Dylan Clarke with 27 points. Dylan Chose Spain (8), Belgium (4), Switzerland (4), Ecuador (2), Norway (4), Scotland (1), South Africa (2) & Ghana (2).
In Joint second on 25 points was Louise Kelly, Aisling Strain & Fodha/Aibhe Donnelly.
In Joint fifth on 24 points was Eamonn McCullagh, Aideen Porter/Shivey!!, Mark Sweeney, Kevin Doyle, John Kerrigan, Sorcha McLaughlin, John Doherty, Darragh Kerrigan & Pat Molloy.

A Foyle Cup Summary for the girls.
The Under 10's playing their first real competition gave a great account of themselves with their group stage highlight being a 5 - 1 win over Phoenix, Aoife Lynch got a hat-trick with Freya Johnson and Annie Hegarty getting a goal each. They were very unlucky in the knockout round losing 1-0 on two occasions to Limavady & Sion Swifts but I'm sure that they will be back stronger next season.
The Under 13's fought hard in the group stages with very strong defending as they got three clean sheets in 4 games winning against Tristar in the process with a long range Mylah McLaughlin free kick. Aileach played Strabane in the semi final and Mylah McLaughlin & Anna Walker got the goals to get them to the final. In the final goals were hard to come by and the unforunately we came out the wrong side of the dreaded penalty shootout, the girls should be very proud of themselves none the less.
Pride of place must go to the Under 12 girls after a tough group stage filled with narrow defeats, they came alive in the knockout stages. A 4-1 win over Omagh Town in the Quarter Final where Lucy Strain got a hat trick and Kate Johnston got the other goal. A semi final followed against Ballymoor where Lucy got the 2 goals in the 2-0 victory setting up a final today against Bonagee. Lucy took her tally to 7 in three games scoring both goals in the final to win the Rosebowl. A great result and great memories for everyone involved.

A Foyle Cup summary for all. The Under 8s have done their coaches John Doherty & Caroline Munro all week. They have fought for every inch on the pitch and did so well at their first Foyle Cup, highlights included an impresiive win over Trojans with Finn Doherty getting 5 goals in that one. Although they lost their first knockout game, they roared back to beat TOTH juniors 4-1
The Under 9's started with a bang beating Trojans 6-0, Ruairi O'Donnell got a hat trick. They lost their first knockout game vs Kilrea but fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in their next game vs Omagh Town. A win over Buncrana was next before a narrow defeat to Cockhill wrapped up the week.
The Under 10s has a good win over Limavady in the group stage and followed that up with a last 16 win over Gleneely Colts coming back from 2 down to win 3-2. Unfortunately they lost a dreaded penalty shooutout in the quarter final but finished up with two wins on the final day over Top Of The Hill and Dungannon Utd on penalties with Denis Doherty making a vital save to help the team to victory.

** FOYLE CUP UPDATE (WEDNESDAY) **

The Under 8's fought hard but came out on the wrong side of two 3-0 defeats against Ballinamallard & Moyola Park. They into the knockout rounds today (Thursday), with a game against Top Of The Hill Celtic Jnrs at 10.45.
The Under 9's were a little unlucky in a defeat to Castlecaulfield, Jude Campbell was back amongst the goals again. They then faced a very strong Dungannon team. The face off against Kilrea at 2:30pm today in the knockout stages.
The Under 10's had an impressive 1-0 over Core Soccer, Tiernan Doherty got the all important goal before they went down narrowly to Drumbar Utd by 2 goals to 1. Sean Og McDaid got the goal in that one.
The Under 10 Girls had the result of the day in their first game winning 5-1 to Phoenix Athletic Colts. Aoife Lynch helped herself to a hat trick with Freya Johnson and Annie Hegarty getting a goal each. The face Limavady in the knockout stages at 4.45pm today.
The Under 12 Girls were out of luck again with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Carndonagh followed by a defeat to a strong Eglinton outfit. They go again against Omagh Town at 4pm today.
The Under 13 girls finally got a break after a couple of 0-0 draws, they got a deserved win over Tristar Colts with Mylah McLaughlin getting the winner with a long range free kick. They got a bye in their first knockout game and will play a quarter final at 5:30pm this evening.
As we reach the knockout stages we wish all teams the best over the next few days.
