A brilliant all round team performance from everyone today. Our football all season has been a joy to watch and today was no different.

Cormac casey put us 1 up early on and we continued to put pressure on thier defence with just offside and a couple of misses away from adding the 2nd. Just before halftime thry scored to make it 1-1 when we lost our shape briefly are were punished 1-1 halftime.

The talk at halftime was keep playing our football and be more clinical in front of goal 2 minutes into the 2nd half sadeu on with his first touch volleyed in a great cross by cathal quinlan 2-1 we quickly added 2 more from cormac to make it 4. Michael noonan once again at the heart of everything tormented thr slievenamon defence and cormac with 3 excellent finishes. They pulled one back 4-2 but sadeu would score again 5-2 the final score. Lots of good performances shay Stewart playing the 6 position brilliantly and rory myers playing his 1st game for us in over a year was tremendous. Well done all myself and james are delighted with this group 👏

Shanbally Utd 6 - 2 Cashel Town 2

A great game of soccer played on Wednesday night. We created some early chances before Cashel scored on the break in the 10th minute. The team responded well and continued to create chances before equalising in the 27th minute with a goal from Cormac Casey, with the assist from Isaac Bowmaker who was a constant threat.

Cashel again took the lead early in the second half with a goal in the 36th minute after a long jinking run. Again the team responded and equalised with a 43rd minute goal from Sadeu Jayawardena, the assist coming from Harry Clarke.

The game opened up at this stage with chances for both sides and some brave stops from our goalie Frankie Fraser.

At this point we took control of the game with Cashel tiring, with goals from Isaac (assist by Noah Dillon) a second goal for Sadeu, and further goals from Oisin Delaney (assist by Noah Dillon) and James Wilkinson (assisted by Oisin).

A great win with fantastic work rate and effort throughout married with great skills finally paid off in the end. Some of our football was brilliant to watch.

On a windswept day in burncourt we took to the pitch hoping to build on our impressive performance and result away to mullinahone 2 weeks ago. We started well with good passing between michael, tomas and cathal creating a few half chances but it was st kevins who opened the scoring 15 minutes in when there forward capitalised on a deflected pass to square across to his team mate 1-0. We reacted well to this with cathal and michael noonan having shots on target. On 25 minutes a mix up at the back allowed thier striker in and he was fouled and they converted 2-0. We didnt put our heads down and and with an excellent passing move michael noonan crossed excellently for tomas hennessy to finish at the back post game on 2-1 , we now pushed for the equaliser and cathal quinla n and donal ryan went close but unfortunately st kevins broke to make it 3-1 at halftime. The talk at halftime was to get the nect goal and go from there. We were unlucky early 2nd half to concede a 2nd penalty but this time st kevins player hit it over the bar to keep it 3-1. Shortly after this michael noonan went on a great run and shot excellently into the top corner 3-2. We now penned st kevins in the last 15 minutes but could get the break we needed with the kevins keeper and defence in excellent form to leave the final score 3-2. Despite defeat the lads played brilliantly and we keep going for the nect match away to slievenamon celtic in 2 weeks. Man of match today cathal quinlan very effective going forward and also helped massively defensively.

Well done to our u9s who had 2 teams in a blitz this morning at clonmel celtic. We played 8 games in total vs clonmel celtic and st Michael's playing some fantastic soccer with great teamwork, defending and goals scored! Many thanks to coaches Brendan, Paddy and David and all the parents for thier encouragement and support of the players. Special mention to David Peters and all from clonmel celtic on a fantastically organised blitz 👍👏

Mullinahone 1 Shanbally utd 5

We made the long trip to Mullinahone saturday morning. We had a good squad of 15 players ready to go after our 1st win of the season. From the 1st whistle we were 1st to everything and our football was excellent always looking for players in a better position. Tomas hennessy was very prominent and from one cut back from the bye line he was unlucky not to find Billy english and mullinahone scrambled clear. Noah Mcloughlin and noah dillon were combining down the left and from one attack noah dillon hit the crossbar. Unbelievably we hit it again just before halftime when ethan connolly effort bounced off the bar. 0-0 at halftime.

The message for the 2nd half was keep patient and playing and the opportunities would come. Our game was built on a strong defence with robbie mcgrath keeping his defence in order, PJ Slattery was having a great game against thier best attacking player and liam and ethan were rock solid at centre back with noah mcloughlin Tigerish in defence and always an option going forward. Shay Stewart played the no 6 role excellently so, our reward came 4 minutes into the 2nd half when michael noonan drove into the box and finished low in the bottom corner , within 5 more minutes michael was on the spot again when a low drive in the box to make it 2-0. We were now in full control of the game and Donal Ryan who came on up front for us and having a real impact scored a special goal when he took a cross with his right foot with his back to goal swivelled and hit an unstoppable volley into the top corner. Issac bowmaker added a 4th when his strike evaded the keeper to find the net and to make it 5 donal was first to react to a mix up in the hime defence to slot home from 6 yards. In the final few minutes Mullinahone won a penalty which they converted well 5-1. Lots of great performances Aaron Hickey again brilliant in midfield and sadeu on as a sub in 2nd half excellent going forward, our bench made a ig impact with donal, jayden, isaac and sadeu all playing well; our man of the match goes to michael noonan never lost the ball, covered the pitch , worked hard, took his goals well a joy to watch. Thanks to all the parents for the support and encouragement to this ever improving group of players 👏
