We invite everyone down to MCs & Harvey’s Saturday 16th November as we celebrate the merger between St.Fergals & East Coast Rangers and also the over 35s awards night after a brilliant season.

There will be a speed quiz & raffle on the night that includes plenty of great prizes to be won!

Double header this week for the lads

Starting tomorrow night with match vs Jobstown Celtic in league out there at 7:15

Then onto Friday night in benildus against harding in the gaff cup at 8:00

Big games and need everyone around all support welcome to cheer on the lads

St Fergals 2 Harding 0

A good win in league last Wednesday for the lads making it 2 from 3

The lads got off to a great start going 1 up after 10 mins mark Leonard with an excellent ball in and Barry golden with a bullet header
Well deserved we had started much better than harding

On the 20 minute mark Barry golden saw Billy piggot make an excellent run right to left behind defence he got there just before the keeper who duly bundled him over

Barry stepped up to slot home the penalty
2-0

Truth be told we got a little bit sloppy then and dropped back the pitch ten yards which invited harding on to us

In second half harding went for it full throtal
But Dixon and Leonard were in great form in center of defence and Heffernan and Delaney also covering well meant we saw the 2-0 out

Couple of excellent saves from Barry o Connor Aswell

In fairness we played for 20 minutes and got a bit nervous and dropped in but all in all 3 points from the side that came third last year is no mean feat

On to Friday in the LFA cup against St Paul’s

Tomorrow sees the first round of cup roll into ballywaltrim recreational park

Marks Celtic 5 St Fergals 2

The lads went out in first match in 5 weeks last Saturday and went down in a disappointing second half

Marks took lead early in first half wen a long range shot was well saved by Barry but fell nicely to their striker who finished well

Marks went 2 up with a peach of a free kick on thirty minutes

Found ourselves 2-0 down even tho we had played better football on a tight pitch
Abdoul was giving the marks defence real problems and had had a couple of chances so we knew we had the firepower

We got back into the game just before the half with a well worked goal from Gary McGrath who pushed well from midfield and finished with great composure

Half time 2-1

Lads came out in second half and pinned marks back and great work from gav Kennedy who slipped a ball through to Barry golden who finished emphatically to draw level

2-2 and game on

Marks however bounced back almost straight away and a speculative ball over top somehow found its way to their left winger who finished well

3-2

We changed formation to try and chase the game then and marks got two breakaway goals in last 10 minutes to make it 5-2

Poor result but a good first half and first ten minutes of second half
A bit of fitness and a bit more concentration and we would of got something from the league leaders
Killer third goal which knocked the stuffing out of us we’ve got to remember to keep our concentration at all times 🦾

Good squad of 17 considering the match was rearranged from Friday to Saturday at short notice 👍 and still missing 5/6 through injury and holidays

We move onto Saturday and a cup game against division 3 north st Itas a great chance to bounce straight back to winning ways
