Colmcilles GAA Club is a local Gaelic Club (hurling and football) serving the Donacarney, Mornington, Laytown, Bettystown, Beamore and the Dublin Road area of Drogheda. We are a voluntary organisation with a strong community focus and ethos, as well as a strong sporting history.Visit http://www.cilles.com for the latest updates! In recent years we have seen a large upsurge in numbers which has not

only led to much on-field success but which has ensured a thriving, dynamic and innovative club. As the longest existing club in the area, we command huge respect and standing in the Community. We are non-denominational and welcome all ethnic backgrounds with many of our younger players now of non-Irish national descent adding to a strong cultural diversity within the club. St Colmcilles was recently awarded Meath LGFA Ladies Club of the Year 2014 and was awarded Meath Community club of the year 2013 the year previous. St Colmcilles has been one of only several clubs selected to pilot the “How are you feeling today” program, promoting positive mental health with members of our East Meath community through daily activities and social clubs. St Colmcilles was recently mentioned in the Seanad (Dec 2014) for our participation in "How are you feeling today" as an example of how sport plays an important role in local communities promoting social interaction and positive physical / mental health. Our programs include:

•Men’s Shed
•Exercise (Mobility) and Nutrition
•Cards evening
•Gaelic for Mothers
•Gaelic for Fathers
•Schools program
•Family Fun Days
•Voluntary Beach Clean Ups

WE ARE OPEN!
We are so excited to officially launch our new Cilles Club Shop!

There has been a lot of hard work put in to make this happen. A huge thank you to Stephen McKee Playr-Fit Teamwear and Wogan Build Centre for their sponsorship & support - and we are so grateful they came along to our ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. 🎀✂️🙌

Well done to our wide audience of club volunteers for all the workmanship involved and always Signs/Val Darcy for the fantastic finishing touches.

Finally thanks all of our Members who support us weekly. We’ll keep you looking fresh in Cilles gear into the future! 👕💙🏐

The Cilles Minor Squad welcomed Matthew Costello (pictured here with team captain of the Division 1 squad, Cillian Murphy) on Sun 24th May to their medal presentation for 2025.

An historic year for the lads; winning all three Division 1 trophies, including bringing home the Delaney Cup for only the 4th time in the clubs history.

This combined with winning the Division 3 championship and our division 6 lads also had a great year with a semi final appearance.

A fantastic night was compered by our own Sean Perry. Our thanks to Sean and Matthew for giving of their time so generously and to the Village Horel for hosting the event.

Best of luck to all our young players starting their Leaving Cert and Junior Cert exams today 💙🩵

You’ve put in the work, now trust yourself and take it one exam at a time.

Everyone at the club is behind you — go well and look after yourselves over the next few weeks.

Workshop for all ladies teams coaches

Sarah is currently doing her PHD research on ladies Gaelic football and has some interesting ideas around coaching ‘kicking’ .

She’ll also touch on gendered considerations that coaches should be aware of while coaching female athletes like pelvic health, contact breast injuries and knee injuries.

Coaches from all age groups are welcome. This is both theory and practical.
