🏃‍♂️ DLS Running Group Update 🏃‍♀️

We’ve a small update to our weekly running schedule!

Our regular runs continue as normal:
📍 Tuesdays – Ballyshannon (Bayview Carpark) at 6:30pm
📍 Thursdays – Bundoran (carpark opposite the Allingham) at 6:30pm

⭐ New addition:
On the last Thursday of every month, our run will take place in Kinlough, meeting at the GAA clubhouse at 6:30pm, instead of Bundoran.

It’s a great way to mix things up and enjoy a different route each month!

👟 New members are always welcome
If you can comfortably run 5km, this is the perfect group for you.

Come along, get moving, and enjoy the run!

DLS were out ‘shamrockin’ those miles this morning! The road may have rose up to meet us, but the wind was definitely not at our backs! ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

Well done to everyone from DLS who took part in the Bundoran 5km last night and the Bundoran 10 Mile today. 👏

It was the first time our newly founded club has participated in this event, and we were delighted to finish 14th out of 58 clubs — a fantastic achievement.

There were also plenty of personal bests recorded over the weekend, which makes it even more special. A great effort from everyone who represented DLS. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Onwards and upwards for the club! 💪

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Tir Chonaill Athletics legend Eamonn Harvey. From Everyone at DLS Rest in peace, Eamon. Your legacy lives on through everyone you’ve coached over the years🙏

Athletics Ireland is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former Board member, Eamon Harvey, of Tír Chonaill Athletic Club.

Eamon was a hugely respected figure in Irish athletics whose lifelong vocation to coaching saw him make an immense contribution to our sport, from grassroots development in his local community to representation on the global stage. His dedication, wisdom and unwavering commitment to athletes of all ages left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come.

Huge congrats to our DLS Community Run Club members who helped in organising or took part in the Melvin Gaels 5K Fundraiser at the weekend! 🏃‍♀️👏 Whether you smashed a PB or just smashed the roads of Kinlough, we can all agree the event was a major success 😊

Also, reminder: our Thursday sessions are BACK in Bundoran this week 6.30 carpark opposite the Allingham hotel! 👋 See you there!

"Big shoutout to all our DLS Community Run Club members who crushed it at the Tony McGowan Run in Drumshanbo! 🏃‍♂️👏 Members tackled the 5K, 10K, and half marathon distances, with some smashing personal bests already this season! 💪

A few highlights:
- PBs galore!
- Team spirit in full force
- Great day had by all 😊

Also, heads up: this Thursday is our last run in Kinlough. From next week, we'll be back to our normal sessions in Bundoran. See you there! 🙌 "

Thursday Run Update 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

For the next few weeks, our Thursday runs will leave from Melvin Gaels GAA Park, Kinlough, Co. Leitrim at 6:30pm.

As part of the DLS run, we’re delighted to be teaming up with Melvin Gaels GAA to support their Couch to 5K programme.

It’s a great opportunity to encourage new runners, share the miles, and support our local community 💪
