Why do you think your diet is failing you? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Chances are it “failed” because:

Your approach to fat loss was unsustainable , you tried to cut out food groups, starve yourself, all while doing excessive amounts of cardio because you wanted the weight gone immediately.

The truth is , excess weight gain is as a result of eating too many calories over a longer period of time. It’s as a result of becoming inactive and forming habits that lead you to over eat… over a longer period of time. In order to un-do this you will need to build healthy, sustainable habits OVER A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME.

Susan can lose 10 pounds in 10 days drinking meal replacement shakes but she can’t live her life doing that all the time. She will most likely stop after 10 days, return to her old habits and put on 14 pounds in a month because she has no tools or education on how to keep it off. This creates a never ending cycle of constantly trying to lose the excess weight multiple times in a year.

Instead, Susan could keep her social life, integrate more movement/ exercise and slightly reduce her overall calorie intake on a daily basis. She could focus on losing 1 pound a week over 10 weeks. The weight loss is the same but now Susan has built sustainable habits into her lifestyle and she can keep the weight off easily.

You don’t need to repeat the same narrative in your head over and over again.

How can I build a sustainable fitness routine??

As we approach the 42nd of January 😆 is the new year motivation and good intentions starting to fade? Try these simple tips to help stay consistent towards your goals!

✅ Keep it Realistic.

✅ Find a suitable time that works for you. 6am or 6pm? find the time of day that works best for your schedule.

✅ Book your 2-3 sessions in advance around work and any other tasks you have on that week.

✅ Bring a friend or train with a buddy!

✅ Everyday counts! Set yourself a step goal and try your best to hit it even on your rest days!

Do I need to calorie count to get results?

The answer is, it depends 👀

Calorie counting and using apps can be a great tool for learning caloric values of foods and identifying if you are in a calorie deficit. But for some people, like Susan 👆 it can cause added stress and pressure that my already busy clients don’t have time for.

I always take an individual approach this. I can identify the best way to manage nutrition depending on lifestyle and I work with all clients to achieve their goals. This sometimes means using food diary’s and meal planning instead of tracking calories.

The best approach is always dictated by my clients as it’ll be the most sustainable for them in the long term 🙌

Fat loss does not have to be stressful or complicated! I have designed a system that incorporates education on nutrition and exercise for clients at any level.

You won’t get a lean and resilient physique doing random workouts and HIIT ,

Combined with good nutrition, using progressive overload and repeating the same movements over and over is the best way to achieve a lean, “toned” body shape.

While there should be some variation in your programming the basics should be the same and you should be building on them every week!

In my small group training all the programmes are designed and structured to ensure everyone is getting stronger/ moving better every single week. The main movements stay the same and there are a number of variations, conditioning work and accessories 🥳
